Wanting to try the spicy nuggets for the first time, my girlfriend and I decided we were going to get Wendy's. I suggested the Wendy's on the way home after a trip to Walmart due to it being more reliable but the girlfriend was hungry now so I reluctantly agreed to try this Wendy's after having negative experiences here in the past. We ordered a spicy 10 piece meal with an extra 10 piece as we heard that the spicy nugget are where it is at. I also got a bacon jalapeno sandwich with spicy chicken as a meal. Our cashier Skylar was very pleasant and informed us it would be a 2 minute wait on the fries. I was excited because nothing beats a fresh fry. I chose a vanilla coke from the coke freestyle machine.
First I hit the coke and it slapped me with great flavor evenly distributed in the carbonated water. Next I hit a hot fry salted up just right. I bit the fry and the fry bit back like a delicious little snack. Soon I would regret eating those beautiful fries first as I excitedly wanted to try my spicy nugs.
I had ranch sauce for dipping however I wanted to try the spicy nugget solo dolo to see how Wendy's seasons up their spicy nuggets. The first nugget was a little stale but still had some moisture. I enjoyed the seasoning on the breading, probably garlic and/or onion powder. A very nice addition to the decent level of spice. As a former fast food employee, I would age this first nugget at 1 hour since it was fried, dyed and laid to the side. This is not a preferred time but it is acceptable.
The next bite, I decided to try the ranch dipping sauce. I dipped the nug and popped it in immediately getting a repulsed look on my face, my girlfriend asking if my ranch was ok. The ranch was perfect, right texture and flavor however the nugget was hard as a rock and I had to pull a half chewed piece out of my mouth to make sure there was white chicken in it and not something discolored. This nugget had to be at least 3 to 4 hours old. The rest of the nuggets were a mix of 1 hour old acceptable and the Dwayne the rock solid, dried out, wishing they was fresh, nuggets.
Afterwards I open my sandwich hoping for a flavor relief and I get the look on my face of "really?" My sandwich was cold to the touch. I am by no means a slow eater so neither my sandwich nor nuggets should have been cold by the time I reached for them. Again I was greated with a Sahara desert dry chicken. The "crispy" crust had once had a crispy crunch to it but it had long since faded away into the crunch of a cracker from up under the stove from christmas 2017. On the last bite I took I was greeted with a flavor that the rest of the sandwich or any of the other food had. It was a chemically taste resembling burnt plastic.
I fully expect to be sick after this experience and I will be telling this story everytime my girlfriend suggests this Wendy's in the future. I hope I can get an appetite for Wendy's again before the spicy nuggets are discontinued as I want to try them under better circumstances at the Wendy's I had originally suggested.
During the writing of this review I overheard employees a few tables down doing the surveys that are meant for the customers. Don't be surprised if you had some good surveys as they are...
Read moreI ordered a large strawberry lemonade with my order, for starters, it was $3 plus or minus, $3 for a lemonade! I asked before I finalized the order do I get free refills with the lemonade otherwise I would get a soft drink. The clerk asked the only other employ there, apparently the manager and was told that I would get free refills. When I came back up to get a refill, there were more employees working and I had to go to someone different. When I asked she stated there were no refills I would have to pay for a new one, if I wanted refills I should have ordered a soft drink. I told her that the other 2 employees said I would get a refill, she said "look, if you want a refill, you have to pay for it, do you want to buy another drink or not?" It wouldn't be such a big deal except that that's a lot to charge for a lemonade, I was told I would receive a refill, all the other Wendy's I've been to give refills on strawberry lemonade, and the employee was rude and wouldn't even ask the manager who was literally less than 4 feet away from her. I'm extremely dissatisfied with the terrible...
Read morea few issues, fountain drinks area is too tight it gets very crowded people waiting to get soda and refills. Next the person that's cleaning the lobby is not wearing his mask properly covering his nose. Next the man that's cleaning the lobby it's not cleaning the restroom properly I bought this up to the manager's attention and I went again of another visit and still the bathroom could be clean much better to be health code violations. No worries I'm not going to call the health department I told the manager already so it's up to him to stay on top of that. If I decide to go back again would only be if I have a doctor's appointment in the building but beyond that there's a Wendy's closer to my house so I would think that would be the better one to go to. I would tell everybody at any place that you buy anything to look at your receipt before you leave...
