This is a great place to visit and spend time while in Downtown Ashland. The park design is excellent. This park really has something for everyone. There is plenty of room for kids to play, and they often enjoy themselves while here. If you want to relax, eat lunch, walk, jog, bike, or just watch nature, then you have come to the right place.
I like the area around the park fountains. I have noticed that there are many benches in this area of the park. The small bridge is a nice touch. I like to eat lunch at the section when I can.
There is a seasonal floral section that is nice to observe. Many of the local hospital workers patronize this section. This is also a great area to take a break.
The paths are pretty even and easy to walk. I haven't had any problems with trash thrown around. Squirrels free roam throughout the park. The sidewalks around the park are also easy to navigate.
Be on the watch for seasonal events here. During the Christmas season, the park has nice decorations and events. During the summer months, be sure to check out the farmers market that comes here. Prices on garden food sold here can help you save money. Check to see when the market will be running.
I would definitely recommend this park if you are near or coming to Downtown Ashland soon. This park is a real asset to the community and is...
Read moreGreat place to take the kids, several different playsets/playgrounds. The kids will literally be entertained for hours! Volleyball pit, tennis courts, baseball diamond, basketball court, water fountains, and trees, trees, trees! And squirrels! There's also a "pond" with huge fish in it. Great place to take Easter pics in the spring because they have about an acre full of Easter lilies. At Christmas time, they have light displays surrounding the entire diameter of the park, ice skating, mini train rides, hot cocoa. I can't praise this place enough!. When we lived in Ashland, we'd go get Mickey D's and a blanket, and have a picnic under the huge trees they have. We did that at least a couple times a month in the warmer months. You can take a blanket and a book and lay in the shade of the trees and read, nap. It's like New York's Central Park; you're right in the middle of the city, yet you're surrounded by so much nature. It's definitely worth making the drive to it, if you don't live in Ashland. Even a 3+ hour drive is...
Read moreGrowing up across the street from Central Park has been wonderful . Not only for enjoyment of seeing the four seasons in full colors but watching the Winter Wonderland of Lights growing by the year right out our front window ! The horn soundings of the little train carrying A full load of spectators coming down Lexington Avenue and turning into the center of the park at Chuck Woolery Blvd. Spring is absolutely breathtaking with the flowers in bloom and the Annual Easter Egg Hunt. Pictures in the park. And fall is so awesome as the trees turn proudly display their vivid colors! I take pictures all four seasons! The walk is a mile and a quarter all the way around. At one time I could do it in 22 minutes! The Dog Park is wonderful for our furry friends. I have enjoyed baseball games and soccer in the park for many years. Picnics and playgrounds. Something for everyone! I call it the Pride of our city! Something for everyone. Definitely 5 stars from me Debbi Hurtt...
