JD's Pizza of Ashtabula — Restaurant in Ashtabula

I used to get JD’s all the time when I lived in Bula. It was good! However my most recent visit (it’s been 15 years 👀) the gentleman taking the order was annoyed we even came through the door. He rolled his eyes while we placed the order because apparently he didn’t feel like making it. It was a large order, however being a catering company as well, I figured one cheese and pepperoni sheet pizza with four Stromboli‘s wouldn’t be that much of an issue for them to make. I wasn’t in a rush either. I had time to wait, not a problem. The sheet pizza was pretty good still but the Stromboli has no seasoning at all especially on top. Literally none. No melted butter with Italian seasoning or anything. I wasn’t thrilled with that at all, as it tasted like bland pizza crust with some pepperoni and cheese on it. That was a waste of money. I usually don’t try to leave reviews, but with as much money as I spent on all of this food, I would expect it to be a little better. I know some ppl are overworked as well, and there may be staffing issues however I would be pretty angry if an employee of mine was rolling their eyes at customers while taking their order. If you need a sheet pizza, I would probably recommend them. It wasn’t bad. It was pretty good. However I would not buy any kind of Stromboli or anything else and if you go, hopefully you’ll get someone a little nicer...

I used to eat from them a while ago, and they weren't very good a while ago, their pizza sauce used to be too watery and they used to undercook their crusts. But fast forward to just yesterday when I decided to give them a try again obviously they've changed something because the crust was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, the sauce seems to be a little bit thicker which I love, and without requesting extra cheese they do put a pretty generous amount of cheese on their Pizza for the special cheese pull.

The only reason why I didn't rate them five stars was because they need to season the crust, lather a little bit of garlic butter on the outer crust and I'll gladly change this four star to a five star.

But other than that they've made some great improvements and I definitely will order...
