Ashbrook Grill — Restaurant in Ashville

I've been here multiple times now. Friendly and prompt staff, and I have yet to get a dish I don't like. Food is spot on. HIGHLY recommend. Yes, they are absolutely family-friendly. Also, very friendly on the wallet, too.

04/04/2024 Update: What a truly disappointing turn the hamburgers here have taken... Ashbrook used to have one of my favorite burgers. Now, their burgers are worse than McDonalds. When I asked if they had changed their burgers, I was told no, and the waitress offered to have mine remade. So because I have never been disappointed by an Ashbrook burger before, I said absolutely. Thought maybe it was a fluke or a bad piece of meat. But, apparently, Cody, they arrogant cook there was too proud to believe that he could have put out a bad burger, he refused to remake the burger. Cool... got it... loud and clear. The waitress took it off my check, I paid, and we left. So, thanks to Mr. Cody's arrogance and the fact that their burgers have clearly been changed to more than likely frozen patties, we will not return to Ashbrook. Every time we have been the last few times, they have changed something, and it has not been for the better. Sad that they are getting worse. They used to be one of my favorite...

Wanted to stay local, but try something new with the family, so we chose Ashbrook. What we got was a very small bar setting, that was full, so we were seated in a back room with 3 tables secluded from the entire rest of the building. Felt like we were in a hole and very awkward. The service was very slow (that's putting it nicely), and they were out of a lot of the food on the menu. It took 3 tries before I actually picked something on the menu that was in stock and able to be prepared. It took an hour to get 3 meals ( 6 piece wings/fries, burger/fries, and a sub). The only reason I didn't give this experience a one star rating is because the food was a touch above McDonalds, it was clean and if you enjoy alcoholic beverages I'm sure it's good seeing as how the bar is the main focus. I doubt we will...

The wings are smoked then fried.

The first sauce was of course hot garlic. Nice size, good flavor but not real crispy. I would ask for extra crispy and more sauce.

The second was mixture of hot garlic and bourbon sauce. They called it Cody mix. It was good but again needed fried longer they came out hot but just not crisp enough to my liking.

We had the Fatboy fries.. it's the ashbook (loaded) fries with onion rings on bottom. good but the onion rings got soggy..

Also deep fried pepperoni. Like the wings need more fryer time not really crispy. No pic of them they were eh..

Overall nice bar. Grill is open view kinda like an old diner. Fryer and stuff was in back. Our server was new her first night but she did a great job very attentive and friendly. Will go back but ask for extra crispy...
