Having passed by this place often since its opening, and friends recommending it, I finally got an opportunity to stop in.
The Atmosphere: For those familiar with this location, several eateries have come and gone over the years. Somehow, everyone - particularly the owners of CCC - has done a wonderful job of keeping the charming atmosphere this building offers.
Very bright with many windows and a central skylight, along with added fixtures. Warm and inviting open motif and nicely laid out booths along the exterior walls and mid-section, with open tables in between. I would call the overall feel inside just a tad upscale a bit from warm & casual
The Ambiance: The sound level is that of a mild diner filled with conversations and utensil use. I easily could have had an easy-to-understand conversation with folks seated near me, and I am at that point in life where background noise is difficult to separate from voices nearby.
The Clientele: As for who would feel comfortable here...just about anyone. The lower dining area was packed on a Monday Morning with folks clothed in suits to sweats, young couples to older seniors, with families scattered about. I happen to be the only single eater present. For me "folks-is-folks," but for those more in-tuned to the subject, one of the more culturally diverse meal crowds that I have seen within the GBay metro. Bottom Line: This is a place for ANYONE.
The Staff: The Staff was very attentive and professional looking. I was barely through the doors when I was greeted with an enthusiastic smile. Despite a very busy breakfast rush, I was seated less than a minute when I was greeted by my Table Hosts (didn't catch her & his names). Hot on their heels was my Server, Gabby; more about her later. Overall, just a word to those who are more the private types: your Service Staff very likely may check on how you are doing often. Don't take that as bothersome, they just care about your experience here that much. Me: I'll take that over fed-and-forgotten any day.
The Food: I had just come off of a weekend in Brookfield, WI where we took in some of the area's best breakfast places (per the local's suggestions). If you, by chance, have ever eaten at Mimosa - then you know what kind of a challenge CCC was up against in my recent experiences. Interestingly, I was able to duplicate my most recent fare from Mimosa: crepes, breakfast potatoes, bacon & coffee.
Everything was totally on par with what my tastebuds had enjoyed just the morning before down south ways!
The filled Crepes were mouthwatering and delectable. The potatoes were perfectly finished and lightly seasoned. Only the bacon did not "equate" with my MKE-area meal...BUT...it was SOOOO close, it could have come from the same supplier on a different day shipment. Perfectly cooked, nicely browned with a perfect mix of crispy and soft, and not too salty. Blindfolded, I would have not been able to tell whether I was back in GBay, or still back in the Milwaukee metro!
I had both the house blend coffee and a cappuccino (straight up - no flavoring). I was equally impressed with both. The standard joe had a nice smooth midrange taste. While I do not think that espresso drinks are a big push here, it had all the flavor, body, and artistic top art that I would expect from my favorite java hangouts.
Gabby!: Gabby was the consulate professional, with the ability to be simultaneously quite personable. Very bright, friendly, pleasant personality: augmented with great knowledge of the business and menu; and above all - a genuine caring spirit. I felt as though I was her only concern this morning. Watching around the room I saw that this was how she, and her colleagues, were treating each table and booth. Gabby - you are a Rock Star (are you listening, H.R.? One word: RAISE)!!!
Okay - so why are you still here letting me chew your ear off? Isn't it time you set your course & schedule to check out one of the most pleasant and delicious breakfast experiences on Green Bay's...
Read moreFirst time here on Sunday, July 28 and it won't be our last. Place was full with a waiting line that spilled outside. That's a good sign it's a great place and worth the wait. Checked in at the host desk and was told it was only a 10 min.wait. Took our name and phone number to text us when our table was ready. Immediately received a text that we were in the system and would be notified. Loved that! Within 10 minutes (as predicted), we received the text our table was ready. The entire restaurant is nicely decorated and very spacious! The entire staff was hustling, and seemed like a well oiled machine. Host was pleasant and polite showing us to our table. Immediately water was brought out (very appreciated on a hot muggy day)! Our waitress greeted us with a smile and took our beverage order while we looked at the extensive breakfast and lunch menu. Service was amazing! We placed our orders and within 10 minutes our food arrived. Beautiful presentation and delicious! We observed how efficient the staff was during our visit. Kitchen staff was seen professionally cooking and preparing orders, bussing staff quickly cleared tables and washed them to prepare for the next guests. Wait staff was fantastic! Turnover was fast and efficient. Management is doing something right to have an incredible, hard working staff! Keep it up! Loved our experience and looking forward...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Cafe Con Crema in Green Bay, and I must say, it was a delightful experience from start to finish. The ambiance of the restaurant set a welcoming tone, with a cozy and inviting atmosphere that made us feel right at home.
We ordered a variety of dishes, including the Egg Benedict, waffles, chicken strips, crisp French toast, and egg white with veggie omelettes. Each dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. The Egg Benedict was perfectly poached, with a rich hollandaise sauce that complemented it beautifully. The waffles were light and fluffy, making for a satisfying treat, while the chicken strips were crispy and seasoned to perfection.
The crisp French toast was a standout, with just the right amount of sweetness and a delightful crunch. The egg white and veggie omelette was fresh and flavorful, showcasing the quality of the ingredients used.
Our server was excellent—attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. They made sure we were well taken care of throughout our meal, which added to the overall positive experience.
Overall, I was very impressed with Cafe Con Crema. The combination of delicious food, pleasant ambiance, and exceptional service made it a memorable dining experience. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great meal...
