Porky's Backyard Food Truck Park — Restaurant in Atascocita

Love the concept of Porkys the idea is very inclusive.

I loved: Kid friendly (has a playground with rubber “mulch” and fake grass which has a fence well a gate making it safer for kids with a one way in and one way out exit that I love. -Variety of food options -Pet friendly -Parking is good

Things that I see may be an issue in the future:

-parking : business looks like it is booming so additional parking would be a great idea.

-having the children share the playground with adults who want to play in that same space ( my experience is below) ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️

Now a few days ago I visited porky’s and I sat at the table in the fenced in area where the playground where the CHILDREN play on the playground (there is plenty of seating around porky’s outside of the fenced in area, directly in front of the food trucks and where they serve alcohol). There were a group of what appeared to be middled aged adults that setup 8-10 or more of those bean bag toss boards and in order to do so the tables near the play ground had to be rearranged to accommodate the group (no problem we still had enough space to not interfere with the other guests at the other tables, which also puts us closer to the play ground yet remember we are in a fenced in area where CHILDREN are playing). Children are running around playing as they do then 2 young girls no older than 5 years old see the bean bags and began to play with them. Their mother whom was close by instructed the children not to disturb the middled aged adult game of beanbag tossing and the children played with the bags again. One of the middle-aged adults who was a woman appeared to be very annoyed that children were interrupting her bean bag game, and stated to the mother a unrealistic request (the middled aged woman was a bit rude yet I can understand if the game is serious but the way she did it is what struck me. There was not an altercation between the two just to be clear.

I think it would be a great idea to include an adult playground so to minimize the area for the children to play in then have middle-aged adults, play with beanbags in an area where children are supposed to play and have the expectation for children not to be children is not realistic. Children are going to run around and children are going to play and be curious. Please understand that I am not taken away from the parents responsibility to supervise their children. The mom was supervising her children. The minor incident occurred quickly it was not even 2 minutes (because neonmoon was playing and the artist said “when the sun goes down on myside of town” he didnt even finish to my door part ) are going to be children. I did peak in between the crack of the fence and see that there is a bit more land behind that fence, so maybe that could be an addition and create a adult playground. I dont know the ends and outs of clearing land or what else is behind the white fence but i did see a bull dozer on that dirt road to my left if you were to face Atascocita road.

As far as the food i like to rate it after it digests

Smash burger: 10/10: double cheese burger with fries: not greasy: didnt tear up my gastrointestinal system : temp hot. Lovee the burger it was really good

Chicken coop: 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯 My chicken was hot, the oil that they use sit right with my stomach! Flavor 💯💯, big pieces of chicken too, juicy chicken, bite into and melt your teeth, i even had some chicken left over and put it into the air fryer and boyy i had me some chicken and waffles for breakfast!

After reading all the reviews,It seems in order for someone to truly give the 5 stars is being okay with paying a little more than the average prices you’d pay at a restaurant. Maybe you came on a beautiful sunny day and the weather was perfect, had your peeps with you so you’re having a great time enjoying the atmosphere , didn’t have a hard time finding parking ,and didn’t experience a rushed service from the food truck worker(s). I’ve only been here once which was a Monday afternoon. I liked that it wasn’t busy because usually when I pass by here the parking looks atrocious so I just keep going. I was finally able to experience this place for myself with my hubby. We tried the taqueria don Juanito food truck without seeing any reviews about it. The pictures advertised look amazing! I will say the food was good. However, I would be careful ordering here. My hubby got the Cuban torta and I ordered the Mexican burger with fries. When we arrived the lady was on a full on chisme rant with the other worker in there while we were trying to tell her our order. Hubby ordered his torta , they told him there was no milanesa. He was ok with it. Then he told her we wanted the burger, didn’t hear us and she proceeded to try charging after she asked if we were done with our order. I noticed she didn’t listen to us because she kept on with her conversation on the side, so I made sure to ask if she got the burger. She didn’t. We ordered a Mexican Coke and asked her for price, she said “$4 because it’s a big coke” okay we went with it, she was slick on her selling point with her quick response as to why it was so much. When we sat down with our food, the hamburger is advertised with a nice juicy jalapeño, That wasn’t given to me. No ketchup was given either for the fries. Instead they gave me a roasted Serrano pepper which to me was pretty disappointing because I really was looking forward enjoying my burger with the jalapeño. I know that’s just personal preference to some , others would understand what I mean. Also, I was going to get a burger from a food truck right next to this food truck but then I gave into the Mexican burger advertised. When we asked about the jalapeño she said they didn’t have any. To me, if she hadn’t been on a full blown conversation being rude while we tried giving her our order , she could have told us that we weren’t going to get that either. To add, the fries were okay they had no flavor. The Mexican Coke was not cold! There is nobody else there really on a Monday afternoon why is your soda not cold? I know this is a lot , again, our food was good. I was only giving my opinion on our experience because I feel like they take advantage of the whole experience there. Be aware of what should be coming with your food before leaving or sitting to eat. My review is not for Porkys in general, we actually had great parking, it was practically empty, we weren’t rushed and well we didn’t order drinks to feel the big prices that I’ve been reading. I’d like to come back and try something else. This place does seem like a great place to enjoy with friends but read the reviews beforehand because it’s not a typical place to eat at, not...

I DO NOT RECOMMEND! I so badly wanted to like this place - in fact, my family and I have been anticipating the grand opening, but it incredibly MISSED THE MARK. I will start with the “pros” of this place. Definitely a great concept! Family and Pet friendly. However, that’s about it. Nothing more. Nothing less.

BAR: The bar had such a long wait time!!! Why? No idea! There was 1, 1 person in front of us. They were not busy whatsoever, yet the wait time to get attended to was ridiculous. The employees should all have roles, obviously. But I guess it isn’t. The lady on the register is doing everything else but to take the orders. When my husband and I got in line, there were at least 4 customers behind us and they ALL LEFT! A “we’ll be right with you” gesture would have helped but the employees were not even acknowledging the customers. There were a whole bunch of employees with not a designated task behind the bar. We were trying to be more considerate since it’s a new place. However, a human etiquette of acknowledgement was not even there. Mind you - its a bar on tap and not even a “bar bar”.

FOOD TRUCKS: There were at least 13 food trucks when we got there at 1:30pm on a Sunday. Only 2 WERE OPEN!!! At 1:30 pm! We patiently waited for the other food trucks to open - we definitely did put into account that it will take some time to heat up their deep friers, etc. However, before they even opened, a lot of the food trucks were already saying, they are sold out of X,Y,Z from their menu. How?! They have not even been open for 5 minutes! For instance, “Victoriously Made Mee Maw” food truck took 30 minutes to make our order of 1 cheesesteak. 1 cheesesteak! We were the 2nd customer in line and by the time she started taking orders, her deep friers, and other equipments were already heated up. 30 minutes! Im just not sure if the food trucks are ready to take orders for a CROWD of people! None of the food truck’s food tasted really good. The ones that were open at least. All mediocre at best! If im being honest, none of the food trucks seemed serious about their business. Most of the food trucks did not have a specific operational hours and when they did open, they were already sold out (How?!) and took an incredible amount of time to serve the customers!

MENU: About 90% of the food truck’s menu is printed and posted in a white computer paper with a very small font! People are literally crowding in front to take a picture on their camera phone. What a waste of utilization. If you have a line of people, wouldn’t it be better to have a size-able font size where your customers can see what they want to order as they wait?

**Again, ambiance = really good. If you are a car fanatic, this is your place. You can tell the owner of this place is very intentional about the concept and aesthetic of this place. HOWEVER, they missed the mark on everything else. FOOD + SERVICE + EVERYTHING ELSE = MEDIOCRE AT BEST. I DO...
