The good: Our food was good. Nothing else stands out, and our first experience was forgettable. I wish I could give you more kudos, but give me something memorable to latch onto.
The bad: We were aware that there was a smell before we went, and once inside, we knew what it was. The tripe... it's really offputting, unless you like it. Some thought it maybe the uncovered trash can in the center of the restaurant, but no. Though, I'm sure that smells too... just different.
The layout, spacing, and work flow is poorly designed. The line to order crosses the line to pickup and for the servers to bring your food. There was inadequate space to approach and line up for salsa and condiments. Most of the condiments were empty, and all were unlabeled. The red, or Roja, was bland and not spicy. The green, or Verde, was much better.
The atmosphere... Well, it's loud, it's uncomfortable, it's uninviting. I don't care to go inside again, but I would order lunch to go.
Drinks: They have Mexican coke, frescos, and some other things, but they DO NOT have a soda/fountain machine. Wouldn't even have a place to put one if they did, but nevertheless, not a lot of drink options imo... nothing I want anyways.
TLDR: Food is good, but everything else is completely and utterly forgettable. Everyone else and their mother sells tacos, many do it even better. What is their unique selling point that separates them from the competition? I don't think they...
Read moreWe waited over 40 minutes for our food. When our order finally came out, they served my husbandâs and my meal but completely forgot my daughterâs quesadilla. I told the server who brought our food, and she said she would be right back â but she never returned. I had to get up and ask for it myself. When they finally brought the quesadilla, I picked it up and found a long black hair in it. It was disgusting. I immediately got up to ask for a refund because I wasnât going to wait another hour for them to remake it.
The staff seemed lost and unorganized, and the service was terrible. Honestly, youâre better off driving to Tacos Frontera â better quality food, faster service, and a much better...
Read moreI grew up in the west coast and eating tacos on the weekends with the wife was always our getaway to our date nights. Since moving to Texas itâs been a bit hard finding a good spot so I will leave my honest review. Adobada tacos had flavor. But asada tacos and Birria tacos were lacking flavor. I always looked for that subtle yet flavorful carbon taste, not to mention the salsa is or tasted store bought (party foul). The aguas frescas not being fresh home style made was a disappointment too since a Mexican coke or real horchata is a MUST. Itâs a good place to stop at and kill your appetite but I wouldnât say itâs true TJ style Tacos for...
