First time here and man oh man it was delicious! I went in person to make an order and I was immediately greeted by the owners with a smile! The place is extremely clean and vibrant! People dining in were laughing and having a great time conversing with the owners. The decor was colorful and very inviting ! I wasn’t for sure what to order so the owner explained the menu and let me know that there were no pork products in their food which is awesome cuz I don’t eat pork. I ended up ordering a few things alacarte because I literally wanted to try everything cuz it all looked so delicious! So I tried the Pholouri which is like a fluffy fritter filled with spices and split peas and herbs with a side of cucumber and mango chutney sauce. And one bite of that was a Burst of flavors. I’m not a big fan of chick peas but this dish made me love them! Next I ordered the Suzi dilla which is like a quesadilla but ten times better. I chose shrimp as my protein and it was made to perfection! Chefs kiss to that one!! 💪🏽😘 I also order the fried fish alacart, collard greens, plaintains and the cocoa bread. All of it was very satisfying! The plantains were sooo good! Oh and I got a side of their jerk chicken for my husband ( because I don’t eat chicken) and he said that it was absolutely delicious! Before leaving I was able to converse with the owners. They were a very friendly couple!!! They shared with me their journey of being Resturaunt owners and their passion for bringing people together by way of preparing these amazing flavorful dishes!!
All in all I was waiting on a place like this to open up in humble and it was worth the wait!! Definitely giving them a 10 out of ten! They deserve it! Keep up the good work guys and I will most definitely be coming back to try some of your other amazing...
Read more5 stars all across the board!! I’m so happy Suzie moved to humble. This is hands down some the best food I’ve ever eaten! Everything was so fresh and flavorful, my first visit I tried the jerk chicken on the bone, coconut rice and beans absolutely delicious! The chicken so full of flavor, the right amount of spice, fresh herbs, so juicy. I also tried the roti which was amazing, my jerk chicken had so much juice in it, I took my roti and soaked up all the juice, and let me tell you, I had a TIME!
My 2nd visit which was only a few days later because I couldn’t stop thinking about my experience, I tried the salmon, I don’t think there’s enough words to describe how amazing that salmon was, so fresh, every bite I wanted it to last forever. I also had the lo mein which was amazing as well, the perfect amount of spice, hint of sweetness to balance it. Now the fried cod fish ? I can eat that everyday with some white bread and hot sauce, fried to perfection, seasoned to the Gods, no fishy taste at all, literally perfect. The owner is absolutely a wonderful person, she treated my mom and I amazing so much respect to her. She let us try chick peas which I’ve never tried before, it was absolutely amazing as well full of flavor the serviving size she was plentiful. If I ever want to fully give up meat, I’ll definitely have her meal prep me some chick peas. I’m going to Suzie today to try something else on the menu, she will be seeing my family and I weekly! Thank you Suzie for considering humble as your new home!
Side note I only got a pic of the chickpeas because as soon as the bag hit the car I started eating my food like it was my last...
Read moreLoved Suzie's Fusion and can't wait to try again! Also the owner is very sweet and the customer service was excellent! All of our food matched the pictures and arrived fresh and hot. There are plenty of vegan options if you're trying eat plant-based as well. We ordered a sample of a few dishes:
Pholourie: 5/5 Light and fluffy and kinda reminds you of a hush puppy. This was a fave.
Jerk Roll: 4.5/5 Enjoyed the seasoning on the meat and the crunchy, flakiness of the batter. Not a big fan of tamarind flavor so would order a diff sauce next time.
Suzie Wrap: 5/5 Amazing! Tried with chickpeas and one with the rice. Very filling and the flavors are delicious.
Curry Chicken: 4/5 Meat is tender and falls off the bone. I wanted more curry flavor and I prefer the sauce a little thicker but that's my preference. Just add some Roti (5), Rice(4.5), or plantains (3.5) to the mix.
Carrot Cake: 5/5 One of the best Carrot cakes I've had. Super moist and soft. No raisins! Thank God. It also came with a side of icing that really set it off. Not overly sweet either.
All in all, we would def try them again and highly recommend them if you want some...
