One of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. My platonic soulmate and I stumbled in for an early dinner and some cheeky bevs. We were served by a lively young las named Sydney G. We started with a couple of cold ones for half off Mexican imports on Wednesday. We then acquired the big daddy fries. Daddy was in fact big… and delicious. I got the grilled cheese which had 4 incredible layers of that creamy dairy. I coupled it with what I would consider the best tomato soup I’ve ever had. My partner in crime got the fried bologna sandwich and it made him feel like a classic American. Priceless. We then went for another round and I got the cucumber mule , which was recommended by Sydney. She was so right. It tasted like laying naked on a beach. Really enjoyed this. Will definitely come back. Ambience and food were great. It’s a sleepy Tuesday so I do understand the lack of attention paid by the servers but it was a turn-off. I’ll also say that I’ve hesitated to try it for so long because the exterior looks like the most welcoming saloon in Diagon Alley. Not exactly a warm, inviting vibe. And if they’re going for that divey, we’re-the-cool-gastro-pub-in-town vibe, it’s offset by a pretty vanilla, middle of the road, sterile interior. Not that I have an issue with either or that the mixed signals have turned me off from coming back - but they were mixed signals nonetheless. One of the owners, Josh, got in my face over a pool game. He was very intoxicated (slurred speech and stumbling), and this has been an issue for some time. The staff was lovely, and apologized on his behalf. If you are reading this, please offer the Dooley staff more pay elsewhere, and revoke the ownership position of Josh. This is unacceptable, and I am so glad I showed self control in dealing with this liability of a man. I will be in contact with my lawyer to determine if further action...
