Just moved down the street from Kelly's. Went to try their jerk pork (with sides of spicy zucchini and mac 'n' cheese).
The Mac 'n' cheese isn't very cheesy, but still delicious. The zucchini was spicy, but also very sweet (which was unexpected, but delicious).
The pork was magnificent. Having roots in the Caribbean myself, I find myself being perhaps too picky when it comes to any sort of Caribbean food. This is easily one of the best jerk porks I've ever had in my life!
The meal also came with a piece of cornbread and some sweet tea. I asked if they would tone down the sweetness of the sweet tea (ask for 'half and half'), and they did. The sweet tea was perfect, and the cornbread was delicious without being too sweet.
Spoke a little bit with one of the owners, and he was a great guy (even allowed me to use what looked like his own personal pepper sauce).
The food was very spice and packed with flavor! Prices are very reasonable. Planning my next trip with my...
Read moreI swear the rest of these reviwes have to be delusional. Now, I'm half Jamaican and eat at alot of other Caribbean restaurants, and i can say this is the absolute worst "Jamaican" food I've ever had. I ordered curry chicken, peas and rice, and cabbage. I have never tasted a less seasond dish in my life. The curry had nothing but tumeric and some kind of tomato flavoring. The cabbage was bright red, and oddly sweet. And, the chicken was EXTREMELY dry, now how is chicken that is drenched in sauce dry? My mom got jerk chicken w rice and green beans. She had oily green beans, sticky rice, and the flavor profile of the chiken was anything but jerk. i tried it and got nauseous, it had some sort of pork flavor and I'm allergic to pork. all i can say tot he owners of this establishment is do batter. you cant market your self as the best in town and have soluch dissapoint food...
Read moreThe only reason this place gets a star is because the food is Jamaican like. The restaurant itself is on its way to being condemned. They serve the food buffet style, which means it was prepared who knows how long in advance. And still you're willing to give them a chance. Wrong again...the service takes the cake. They were rude and unfriendly and I felt rushed, I even caught the server rolling her eyes. They are mostly popular on Wednesday's because it's the only day they serve ox tails, sometimes if your not early enough they run out. They have this same problem often, you would think management would order more based on demand. They really can't afford to be tuning customers away. After my experience today I don't think I will be returning any time soon. If you're in the mood for Jamaican I would recommend Thai...
