My husband and I were excited to try this place for their 5 star reviews on here and unfortunately were disappointed. Initially upon entering, we were greeted by a lovely waitress who gave us our menus. But then another server came to take our order and handle our table for the rest of the time. This waitress was not personable at all and any time I would ask a question about the menu, she would either not answer at all, or give brief answers. She was clearly in a rush. I ordered the Yakisoba noodles and my husband the Teryiaki Dinner. We both got the miso soup and garden house salad to go with it. Soup and salad were ok. Not much to rave about - tiny portions, tofu in soup were micro pieces and salad dressing was so watered down, almost like a soup. It took a while to get our main meal, but once we did, unfortunately that was a disappointment too. Food wasn’t hot and the portions were ridiculously small for the price. My noodles were like something I could make at home - nothing fancy, just seasoned thin spaghetti noodles. They used chicken breast for the meat and it was so dry and unflavored - clearly hasn’t been marinated. My husband got his teriyaki chicken with a tiny side bowl of rice…which I thought was a complete joke. If you order a chicken teriyaki dinner, a big amount of rice should be served with the meat, not in a tiny bowl on the side. His chicken was also dry and not much flavor other than the teriyaki sauce. The yum yum sauce didn’t help much either as it was overpowered with the mayo and watered down as well. I considered sending my food back, but honestly didn’t want to deal with the waitress as she was already very impersonable. She would rarely came to our table and it was hard to communicate anything to her as she wouldn’t respond when you asked her something. Upon leaving, the owner/manager told us goodbye and seemed very friendly and genuine. And the other waiters seemed like they were doing a good job. Unfortunately, we ended up with a horrible waitress and food wasn’t good either. Maybe their sushi is good, but I doubt we’ll be back any time...
Read moreI'm writing this soon after dining here.
As we walked in we we're greeted in by a lovely waitress and told to sit anywhere we'd like. Great! Atmosphere was dark but homey. Perfect for some sushi or ramen on a rainy day. Unfortunately, these qualities didn't pass on to the food — which left much to be desired.
First, we ordered the 'shrimp tempura roll' which, like the gyoza, was great! Had a nice, crunchy interior which paired nicely with the rice exterior. Next up, the 'chicken & shrimp hibachi' for my girlfriend, a 'tonkotsu ramen' bowl for myself. Incredibly disappointing...
Everything tasted as if it were canned, frozen, or prepackaged. The ramen noodles were clumped together, sticking to one another as if they were poorly thawed out or from a refrigerated package. The eggs were premade and cold. Every restaurant that sells ramen should, at a minimum, boil their own eggs. It takes 5 minutes at best for soft-boiled and makes all the difference in both flavor and texture of the broth — which was tasteless. Oyishi Hibachi & Sushi clearly isn't the go-to ramen spot but they should at least make an effort when advertising their ramen, on their website, with soft-boiled gooey eggs. The pork was good though!
Now the 'chicken & shrimp hibachi' — their namesake, is hibachi is name only. The chicken was rubbery and extremely hard to chew. The shrimp was also rubbery, with a more-than-foul "fresh-from-freezer" after-taste. We both felt sick after trying it. It must've sat frozen for months and given to unique customers as an initiation rite. I'd feel embarrassed to serve that to my dog, much less my customers.
'Oyishi Hibachi & Shrimp' isn't the go-to spot for anything beyond sushi — and even that I'm beginning to wonder given the quality of their other offerings. The atmosphere was pleasant and wait staff on-point but they should seriously considering overhauling their offerings with fresh ingredients. I really think they...
Read moreI have to give one star because I cant give a zero. Would never go back or recommend this place. We had 3 couples with 1 kid each. The service was horrible, we didn't get greeted when we got there. We waited over 40 min and had to ask for service. Then the manager took our drink orders. After about another 15 min. Got our drinks that were alcoholic. 3 kids and myself who didn't order alcoholic drinks. We didn't get our drinks. After an hour another table next to us sat down and got 2 waitresses ordering their food and we haven't seen someone still. We have been making eye contact. Trying to get attention. Finally got a waitress. She started taking our drink orders for kids again and the manager realizes it n brings our drinks finally. Then we place our orders. We asked to please bring kids food at least because at this point they are hungry. We already gave snacks to hold them off at this point, surprisingly our kids were behaved even through this. Food finally started coming. Everyone started eating. After now 1 hr and 40 min. Still no food for me or my son. Asked waitress. She stated she probably gave my food away. So reordered it. By this point my whole group ate. I got my food. Asked for a to go order. We asked to speak with manager. He did not care that we were ignored. He did not care my 4 yr old son did not get to eat. Did not care to offer any thing, including a simple I'm sorry. We are busy or short staffed etc. we understand that. But he had no concerns what so ever. Will not be going back or recommending this place. If u want to be ignored and not eat for hours then this is the place for you. Not kid friendly. I heard the food was decent but wouldn't know. Didn't get to eat mine. We ended up grabbing food from somewhere else for my son after as well. Just a...
