Captain D's — Restaurant in Athens

I went there couple nights ago and they were probably 30 minutes until they closed. I ordered my food which ended up being about $32 dollars worth of stuff. After leaving I went straight home looking forward to enjoying a good meal with my family and it ended up being something very far from that. The meal I ordered is called a Low Val Chicken meal with two sides. It's a grilled chicken breastfeeding served on top of a bed of rice and I ordered broccoli as my two sides. The problem with my meal was the chicken was not fully cooked and no rice at all. My wife ordered a seafood supreme dinner which comes with shrimp, crab cakes, fish, hush puppies and two sides, which her sides were green beans and macaroni and cheese. The crab cakes were so burnt you couldn't eat them. The fish was so greasy you could literally twist it to try and break it apart and it wouldn't break. It was like rubber. The two sides she had gotten with it was cold. All around it just absolutely sucked. So I was call back and see if I could get it fixed or replaced...anything but I couldn't call the same night cause like I said they were 30 min from closing when I was there so I had to wait till the next morning. I called that next morning and explained my problem well the lady that answered the phone was the lady who actually gave me the food that night and she remembered me and said yeah the guy was a new cook and then she gave the phone to a manager. I told her the story again and she called another manager and that one told her that there was nothing that could be done because I didn't call the same night even though they were closed once I realized the nasty screwed up. I still had the receipt, the lady remembered me and yet they still would do nothing about the disgusting food they gave me that wasn't edible. I wouldn't recommend anyone to go there because for one apparently they hire people who can't cook worth a damn. For two, they have managers who could careless about their customers. The captain ds I am referring to is on Hwy 31in Athens AL. Sucky food and sucky...

My hubby called me and asked if I wantes something to eat. Being newly diagnosed and feeling weak I said "yeah, Capt D's salmon and rice with green beans and okra... you can have my okra and hush puppies (I had to quit deep fried foods)" He said "I'm not hungry and money is tight"! I said "at least add a piece of fish to my meal for $1.99. He gets the order, checks it and they added another piece of salmon. He can't stand salmon and needed to get this food to me and get to work on time. He's telling me he told them he wanted a piece of fish and they screwed up. My husband can tell fixing the receipt and the food will make him late for work so he says "the extra piece of salmon is $6.99 and so is the 2 piece fish dinner so just give me that so I can het outta here"! He gets home, I ooen the container and NO RICE! smh. We eat Capt D's once twice a week but lately... they screw up our orders so today I called and this mgr told me he took the order and my husband ordered "add a salmon, not add a fish"! I told him I wasnon the ohine with him and as well my husband can't stand salmon... "! He basically called us liars and kept overtalking me while refusing to admit his mistake then began to chastise me for getting upset. My hubby and I have too many health issues including high blood pressure to deal with this lack of professionalism. I have never had problems with the service at this location until recently. I ordered a family meal online for pick up. I received a text notification stating my order would be ready at 6:08pm. When I got there the place was super busy inside and they were understaffed. I was frustrated, but I could empathize as I have worked in the food industry before. The employees were stressed, but remained professional and polite. Finally got my order at 6:43pm and headed home. When we all finally sat down to eat we were so disappointed as the food was disgusting. The battered fish tasted like the batter was made using old ingredients and the fish itself was slimy and discolored. The broccoli tasted fishy (ewww) and the baked potatoes were hard. We got the loaded ones, but even the toppings were gross. The shredded cheese was oily and clumped up and the bacon bits were stale so they tasted like cardboard. I emailed my complaint and within a short time received a phone call from the district manager. She listened to the details of my experience and was so very understanding. She offered me free meal cards for my troubles as she was unable to refund my money because I used a 3rd party app to purchase the order. I will definitely chalk it up to just being one bad night and hope...
