My boyfriend and I have tried Dutch bros in Midland TX, Lubbock TX, and Athens TX. (Multiple times each.) Out of all those visits, We’ve only had 1 good experience. We’re finally done and don’t plan on ever going back. The drinks have been inconsistent and rarely super good. Often when we’ve ordered frozen drinks, they've been icy and chunky.
What pushed me over the edge happened in Midland. I immediately noticed that the girl helping me at my car window was being very short with us and not smiling at all. (I understand that everyone has bad days.) I ordered an iced caramel macchiato. She had us pay, then we waited in line until we were at the window. At the window, they were handing me a random drink that had chocolate in it.
I stopped her and said I ordered an iced caramel macchiato. I was only then informed that “we don’t make any macchiatos. I think the person who helped you, typed in a custom drink.” So not only was she not friendly, but she also did not enter the drink I was ordering, and did not tell me that she was not planning on giving me the drink I ordered. And she had us pay money for it!...

During my initial visit, the Athens team was being trained by experienced individuals, resulting in a positive experience with correctly made drinks and efficient processes. However, subsequent visits have been disappointing. It seems that this team was not adequately trained. I'm unsure if Dutch Bros management failed to retain the onboarding team or if the new hires were not adequately trained. Regardless, this location has been inconsistent with the taste of their drinks, ineffective in managing the drive-thru line, and slow in service. I am a regular customer at Dutch Bros across multiple states, so I don't make these comments lightly. Today was the final straw when I had to wait in line for 13 minutes, with only four cars ahead of me, and no one coming out to take any orders. Read moreWow, I have never been treated so poorly at a local restaurant. While dining in, my friends and I were enjoying coffee and conversation as the music became louder and more explicit. It became difficult to concentrate so we asked they turn down the volume. They initially turned it down. Later, a couple employees on break became angry and took control of the music through their bluetooth, turning the volume up and playing sesame street music to troll us. Here we are, paying customers, being trolled by the employees. It became unbearable, and we informed one of the employees behind the window. She thought the whole thing was funny. It wasn't.
