Grandmas Gingerbread Bakery and Restaurant — Restaurant in Athens

We were super excited to try the food here and starving as we stopped in around 10 am. We were seated by a young lady who motioned us from behind the counter to sit at a nearby booth. We immediately noticed that the table had not been wiped down after the previous customers and were kind of grossed out by the dirty table but decided it wasn't a big enough deal to say anything. We were greeted by a very nice server and brought water we ordered. We sat for 50 minutes as we watched the young lady behind the counter too busy playing on her phone to actually seat customers coming in and would just motion them to go to an empty table, we also watched as she came out and cleared off a couple of empty tables that were not wiped down before new customers were seated. We watched as people that came in long after us were brought food and even sat through a family coming in and ordering a to go order, left to go shop and then they came back to pick up their food. It was at that point our waiter brought out what thought was finally our food but turned out it was a couple who had come in long after we arrived. So after 50 minutes of sitting there sipping water we called it quits and left. They weren't busy at all, lots of tables still available as the cashier and barista both just sat playing their phones. I'm not sure what happened but we wasted an entire hour of our day and have no idea what the food...

First time here. I ordered a cheese burger with onions and a sweet tea to drink. The waiter never refilled the drink once while I was there. Waited about 30 minutes for the cheese burger to arrive. It looked ok, until I bit into it. I immediately noticed it was very pink. I checked the middle and it was completely raw. There was blood draining out of it. I told the waiter and he apologized and sent it back. I wasn't aware when I walked in at 1 that they closed at 2. I waited another 30 minutes for the burger to come back out and decided to get it to go since the staff was already getting things ready to close. The second burger wasn't great. They advertise "home fries" but they're basically just breakfast potatoes. I wanted to like the place but the raw burger ruined it. I probably won't go back. I would recommend something other than the burger to eat. There were also a couple of customers who asked what was in the baked goods and none of the employees could knew the answer. I would recommend at least putting some kind of information for allergies next...

Can’t leave a review for the food because we waited 15 minutes and were never greeted. Finally sat down with a menu and another 5 minutes passed and we got up and walked out. The food looks delicious but the atmosphere is cold shoulder and like to many people are an inconvenience. A smile and a I’ll be will you momentarily goes a long way. Overall the place is clean and everything looks awesome but the customer service is a 0 out of 10. And only having two other tables there’s no reason for this wait. We came here for the recommendations from Facebook but I wouldn’t go in person again. ...
