K May Donuts — Restaurant in Athens

I did not have a good experience with them. Be aware I went through this and their prices are a bit higher than Dunkin or Krispy Kreme. I ordered two chocolate eclairs, 3 chocolate cream filled and that other cream filed donuts. They were full of old tasting grease and the eclairs made me sick for 2 days. I think it must have been food poisoning. The eclairs were the only thing I ate because when I tasted that same old oil taste soaking them, I was not gonna chance getting sick again. I called them about it and talked to a man. He was rude and told me no refunds. The only good I got from the whole experience was that the one blueberry donut I got tasted good and not like it had been soaking in the oil. The first picture is the picture of the bag the eclairs were in. They were soaked in oil. They tasted awful. I really shouldn't have eaten them,but I did because they are definitely not cheap at K-mays. The second picture is my sister's white sprinkle donuts she got. I spent $19 total there and they should have at least refunded the eclair amount because they literally made me sick. Total I got a dozen donuts and the two eclairs. The cream filled, chocolate and eclairs were the ones I had issue with. The raspberry filed and blueberry were fine and I had 4 of those total. The other bad donuts I threw away because I definitely didn't want to get sick again. The eclairs are the only thing I was asking for a refund for, because at that time I assumed the donuts were going to be good and I hadn't tried them until another day. I was very disappointed and if they had just refunded only the eclairs I'd go back but since they didn't I won't. It was an awful experience that had me needing a trash can and a toilet and had me feeling just completely awful. I never want to get food poisoning from there again. They may have good donuts USUALLY, but if you EVER get a bad batch and it makes you sick the customer service is bad and they do not care at all. It is not worth the...

Both my husband and I loved your donuts, just like everybody else! I noticed a change several months ago, probably a year.. We’ve raved in person with you, and bragged to others about your donuts. I can only comment on the donuts I would always order; fritter, apple or pineapple.. it noticeably no longer has near the icing it used too.. and it’s more soft throughout with little crunch on the side. Your fritters stood out from the others because of the crunch and plenty of icing.. but no more. Your Maple bars.. you cut back again, the icing, maple flavored icing is so thin annd you just don’t get enough with every bite… and they have less than half the vanilla custard in the middle. We, and others, are so disappointed. These differences are constant and consistent with these 2 donuts for maybe a whole year now.. Their chocolate donuts taste/smell like acetone. The health department went out to inspect and k mays excuse was that they dont know about the taste because they work there all the time and cant smell the problem like a customer would who doesnt work there all the time despite having several customers complain about the same problem so they knew very well about this issue and have continued to sell donuts that are toxic. I was told by health department that k mays said they were sorry however never offered to give me a refund. They knew about this problem because of other complaints and decided to continue selling and using the toxic chocolate to make their donuts but said they werent aware of this because they cant smell it while making the donuts despite customers complaints which should be enough to stop.
