I took my friend to Bar.bacoa for a girls dinner date & we found out it was Taco Tuesday! Meaning 50% off all tacos (except for lobster) which was so clutch!! We literally wanted to try so many and we did haha. I ordered the lamb barbacoa, grilled shrimp and trailer park (fries chicken, house queso, lettuce and pico de gallo). The grilled shrimp was my favorite for sure! I think it’s because I liked the combo of ingredients the most (roasted corn, chipotle aoli, and black bean salsa). I kinda had higher expectations for the lamb barbacoa, it was okay just not as good as I thought it would be. The trailer park is the best seller per the waitress and I can see how, it’s like a classic can’t go wrong with it. We also ordered a side of Mexican corn and Spanish potatoes. The Mexican corn was really good! I would definitely recommend. The potatoes had an interesting vinegar like taste so we weren’t really a fan of them. For drinks we ordered the Steve The Pirate and the House Margarita of the night which was infused with a raspberry flavored beer from a brewery in Asheville. I really liked the margarita I had it! It tasted very citrusy and fresh. My friends drink Steve the Pirate was sooo strong! It was like I had taken shot and I only had a sip. The hazelnut was very apparent in it as well and she really liked her drink. Lastly we had churros for desert and they were really yummy! And because this was Taco Tuesday the whole meal was such a deal! Without the drinks our meal was only $28.00 and $48.00 for everything! The restaurant itself is very beautiful and really spacious. We were seated out on the heated patio which was really comfortable despite the fact Atlanta decided to drop back down to 40 degrees this week! Our waitress was also really sweet too. We really liked her. She provided excellent service and made sure to check on us often. I know I’ll definitely be back because there’s more tacos I want to try :) UPDATE: I love Taco Tuesday!! Came back to try more. This time I got the special of the night which was the Salmon and tried the grilled chicken, along with the grilled shrimp again. Everything was delicious!! The salmon was covered in a honey chipotle glaze, with chopped red onions and pineapple pieces! It was delicious!!

EDIT: Third time here, and unfortunately the experience was worse. Food is has always been okay, but the service is poor. On top of that, staff members came over shortly after we finished our meal (we were going to order more drinks) and informed us that a party of 6 and a party of 10 were waiting to be seated......um, ok. So we got the hint. Very rude. We meet with the same group of friends once a month, and we will be marking Bar-Bacoa as a place NOT to go. Original Review: The place was busy but it didn’t feel packed, which was nice. We had about a 15 minute wait to get a table for two around 8pm on a Friday, so we were pleased with the wait time. Queso dip was delicious, and the chips were just right. The BBQ salmon is a must try! We don’t even like grits, but we got it anyway and will definitely get it again. So good. The tacos we ordered were very delicious as well. My favorite being the Korean taco. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because we had to ask for every drink refill, and sat with empty cups more than once. Our waiter was very nice and kind, but just had trouble refilling our drinks without us asking...even though he walked past several times. All in all, we will definitely be going back to try more of their menu!! Highly recommend.

Visited on a Sunday for cinco de mayo! They were one of few restaurants that allowed reservations. We arrived about 10-15 minutes early and parked in the lot behind the building which offers complimentary valet. We were still able to be seated and given menus. It was our first time visiting but I was happy that they had enough pescatarian and vegetarian options for me choose from. We were brought waters and then ordered the guac as an appetizer and 2 margaritas. He had the herradura palmoa margarita special and I had the teramana mango margarita. I ordered a baja and buffalo cauliflower taco while he ordered the peruvian chicken, salmon, and baja taco. We continued to talk while we waited. Drinks came then the app and our tacos. 1. My teramana margarita was better than his paloma 2. Buffalo cauliflower > baja 3. Peruvian chicken, salmon, baja 4. Those house made chips were delish and I enjoyed the guac We overall enjoyed ourselves and it was a nice first stop on our cinco journey (lol).
