Friday 19 February at 12.30. No lunch crowd other than myself. The young female that is an order taker was of little to no help when ordering for sit down. I had the impression that as a customer I was more of a distraction.
When ordering your meal you are then required to gather your own flatware, salt and pepper shaker and drink if you desire one.
When I asked if the glass in front of me was a clean one I was met with a tortured look of anguish from my server. As if I should have known she doesn't provide a clean glass for a beverage.
I ordered the specialty, Reuben sandwich. I also requested a side of potato salad.
Both were served without the slightest attention from the female. Again I think I was more of a distraction than a necessity.
When I paid my bill I did comment to the owner concerning the lack of attention. The owner was apologetic and did not charge for the side of potato salad. I did mention I was not interested in a comp of any kind. That I would pay for the total items ordered.
In my opinion the lack of interest concerning customer food, or customer satisfaction was dismal. And/or a follow-up question of : How is the sandwich?" is not perfunctory--but mandatory in a small food business.
The Reuben had a nice presentation. The potato salad is in a plastic tub. The beer is in a can. The over-all food score was average.
Any day in the food business should be your best day. But a Friday afternoon with no other customer's, the phone not ringing off the hook for pick-up orders, and no Rock Stars limo's out front is a clear indication the direction this local non-attraction is headed.

Read moreUPDATE: Owner apologized and offered a modest coupon. Have added a star. ORIGINAL POST: I have given this place so many chances, including after I saw an unleashed dog running around behind the food counter. Today, I was charged extra for avocado that never made it onto my takeout sandwich, and when I called to ask them to refund me, they said they didn't know how and I'd have to come back in for a new sandwich. When I said no, they figured out the refund, but of course never apologized. In addition, the bread was stale, I got the wrong cheese and, as usual, they forgot the pickle spears. These complaints may sound petty, but as they've added up over the years, I can no longer dismiss the poor service and standards as just small business growing pains. Unfortunately, there aren't many decent delis in SE Atlanta, but this one won't be getting my money for...
Read moreWhat a cute little market! I'm from out of state and am not familiar with the area, but I decided to stop in and check it out because I was craving a good deli sandwich. The guy making the sandwiches was super awesome and funny! I had no idea what to order, so he suggested his specialty called the "Jake-inator" which is similar to a club and a Reuben. Now that I'm back home, I'm craving the "Jake-inator." I wish we had a Jake working at our nearest deli to make that sandwich again for me. If I ever visit ATL again, I will make a special trip to get that sandwich. Hopefully, Jake will still be working there. He was very knowledgeable and had a great personality!...
