I did not know that this was on a Food Network show, I just saw it on a search of good breakfast places. We arrived a little after opening. The host asked if we had a reservation. We didn’t, so she said we could sit at the bar if we wanted. The only seats were by the espresso machine, which is very loud. The host then sat the next six groups of two to five people at tables in the dining room telling them that there were going to be reservations latter for those tables. I would have REALLY liked to have that as an option. We had no intention of staying past getting food and eating it. It took a little while for our server to notice us, but she was extremely polite. Since we didn’t know there were specialties, we chose what appealed to us: Grits Bowl with chicken sausage added, Folded Egg Fritata and a cinnamon roll to share, drip coffee and water, the person with me prefers nut milk with coffee, and they had that. Waters, coffees, cream and almond milk came quickly and the coffee was hot and tasted fresh not old or burnt at all (though to get to that point took a while because we weren’t greeted for a while). The cinnamon roll was really mediocre. Honestly grocery store cardboard pop can cinnamon rolls are way better. The cinnamon roll was not overbaked but it was dry, super dry, and completely room temperature, rather cool. The icing was a nice combination of flavors, but just cold, sitting on top of dry baked bread. It was not an offensive taste, but only mediocre. It was quite a gap of time until the entrees. Our coffee was gone gone, not “Can I warm it up “ low, gone. Our server was very, very nice and kept asking the three other people at the bar if they wanted or needed anything. We kept getting ready to say, “May we have coffee, please.” but she would turn back to her task or converse with a coworker (always work talk, no idle chit chat or anything, the staff seemed really good). I think that end by the espresso machine is just a bit out of site out of mind. Finally we had our sad, dry coffee cups right at the inside edge of the bar and we interjected, asking for coffee, when the tasks sort of turned our way. We HATE to interrupt, or appear weirdly demanding. Obviously, I think about for days if I have to. The food came soon after our coffee refills (the next cups of drip coffee were also good). The toppings on the Grits Bowl were very good. The grits themselves were cooked well, seasoned well, but were completely room temperature. The vegetables were really perfect, not overcooked. The eggs were cooked exactly over medium, like I asked. I prefer eggs to be lightly seasoned, these were not. I didn’t want to salt the dish because the rest of the food was seasoned great. I liked the flavor of the chicken sausage, but I wish I had gotten it on the side because it overwhelmed the grits and vegetables. My dining partner enjoyed the frittata and salad, they didn’t talk about it much because of where we were, noise wise, but it looked good. Overall, it was fine and $60 for 2 people for breakfast is pretty normal right now. I am not sure that a weekday morning when you have empty tables is really the time to chide someone for not making a reservation, but like I said I didn’t know that it was a destination type restaurant, we were in the area and the restaurant came up on a search. We didn’t have any trouble parking, there were only ten or so vehicles when we arrived. I won’t go out of my way to return though it isn’t too far away and we eat breakfast out frequently, but we have weirdly pretentious good breakfast places closer (Hen Mother, which also has great staff, and better food; Egg Harbor, less pretentious, food not as good, still good staff; First Watch, louder, food on par, staff so-so; Flying Biscuit, better atmosphere, staff ok to good, food not quite as good, but...
Read moreWe came here as our first stop to Atlanta. My girlfriend made the reservation as she found this I believe on TikTok. We were both hungry and in town for my uncle's funeral and decided to get breakfast here.
This place was so great it almost made me forget I was sad and here for an unfortunate occasion. The place itself was very welcoming and had a very homey feel. The decor was very natural and felt like a country kitchen type of feel.
The staff were extremely helpful, our server Tyler was excellent! He knew it was our first time and offered both suggestions and feedback on possible choices we would make. This is always a welcome thing for us as we have a hard time deciding because everything looks so good! His recommendations and feedback or spot on and we were very pleased with our meals.
We both got natural sodas to start and went from there. My girlfriend got the strawberry one and I got the ginger one. You can tell they are natural because they do not have anything artificial in them. They tasted like naturally made syrups with seltzer water added for the carbonation. They were actually very good even if outside of our normal drink choice.
We then moved on to the food which was absolutely phenomenal. Everything is made in-house from scratch fresh. You can taste the love in every dish. My girlfriend got the chicken biscuit sandwich with potatoes which were flavored well and the chicken was not dry. I got the hash bowl that featured eggs, bacon, cheese, and potatoes. Everything we had was prepared exceptionally well from the fluffiness in the biscuit to the flavor and seasoning of the chicken and my hash bowl.
We decided to end our visit with the delicious and highly recommended cinnamon roll that featured orange zest. It arrived fresh and hot with the icing and orange zest on the top. It was a very nice size for cinnamon roll so much so that we took some home. That was a very good cinnamon roll, We definitely enjoyed our visit and can't wait to return! - SupaFlyITGuy approved! 10 outta 10. We recommend making a reservation in advance so that you won't have to wait very long. We were seated almost immediately around our reservation time.
Even the bathroom was very tidy and had a hilarious wall decor. This speaks volumes to how your food is prepared as well. I usually check the bathrooms in places that I eat as this is often a reflection of how clean the place is overall and how well maintained most times with a few exceptions. They passed with flying colors in my opinion on all...

Hot Chicken + Grits Bowl: My Husband said it was good but my husband generally likes most food lol.
Chicken Biscuit: Now this is what I was most excited for. The “sweet tea” brined chicken sounded like something I just had to try. The biscuit that came out was HUGE. The portion is definitely way bigger than your average biscuit but that’s about all the good I can say on that. This was unfortunately the biggest let down for me. The actual biscuit is OK. Not soft or a thicker dough if that’s what you’re looking for. Too dry for my liking. The chicken to breading ratio is terrible honestly. The chicken they give you is so big but the breading was peeling/falling off from the actual chicken. Also, there’s pretty much no seasoning on it. The pictures I saw beforehand made it look like I was about to bite into the most flavorful, amazing chicken biscuit of my life but sadly, it was the most boring and blandest chicken biscuit I’ve ever had. The red pepper jelly imo, made it even WORSE. I am someone who loves a savory breakfast overall and the red pepper jelly made the biscuit sweet but in the worst way. The sauce tastes like it belongs on some Chinese chicken. NOT on a biscuit. Definitely not what I’m looking for when trying to eat breakfast. 0/10.
Pimento Cheese Grits: Needed some salt for sure. They were good but nothing amazing again.
Pickles: Again, weirdly sweet which is good if you’re into that sort of thing. It tasted like a cross between a dill pickle and a bread and butter pickle. Not my thing.
Milky Way Cold Brew: Tastes like coffee. I’ve made better at home.
Water: room temp and doesn’t come with ice?? so ask forsure if you want that.
Overall: I give this place a 3/5 because of how pleasant their staff is. Our waitress was super sweet and attentive. The place is cute but I could see how parking would be absolutely terrible if you don’t go on a Sunday. Food was a 2/5. Not disgusting but unimpressive, bland, and unseasoned. Chicken biscuit 1/5 - I would’ve preferred chick-fil-a or bojangles over this because at least there’s some seasoning. Value for Price: 2/5. The portions are big but the food is mid at best so is it really worth $20 a plate? I prefer quality over quantity imo. We spent about $60 for two people not...
