FIRST TIME VISITING 👇🏾
I went to the restaurant the other night, about an hour and a half before they closed. The person I'm dating thought it would be a special experience because I'm vegan and they are not. Fast forward, we sat down and the waitress comes over, she did not greet us in a friendly matter, it almost felt like she was annoyed we sat down before they closed (1hr and a half prior to closing). Mind you there were 4 other customers sitting down and enjoying their meal. After being that interaction, we took a moment to look over the menu. My date ordered us TWO coconut waters (11.2FL oz) after the waitress stated the ONLY options they had were alkaline (pre-bottled) water or coconut water (pre-packaged), after I saw someone else with just a plain glass of water. Never the less I thought it was odd, but my date proceeded to order the coconut waters that were under 12oz. The coconut water was (5.50) each. Upon ordering our oyster mushrooms appetizer (which was AMAZING) my date asked the waitress if there was anything sweet to eat. The waitress pointed to the cold fridge and states "yeah its over there" still pointing and said you can walk up and get it and check what's over there (not Disclosing the options they had) so after my date grabbed two carrots cakes (at 8.00 a cake) we sat back down to await the waitress again. After about 15mins the waitress comes back ready to take our orders and advise we need to decide quickly because they will be closing up the kitchen (noted) . I placed my order for the Vegan Philly but was quickly told by the waitress "we are out of the vegan meat so we can't make the vegan Philly" I was puzzled because why wasn't that mentioned in the first place when we were being rushed to order?? 🤔 Proceeding with the only two options she gave as an alternative to the vegan Philly we placed the order for the Salisbury burger (it was top notch!)
We waited another 30mins for our food, although there was only now 1 person left in the restaurant. Fast forward another 10mins past (8:50 at this point and they close at 9pm) now at this time and we were the only couple in the restaurant. Still no food at the table. As I peered at the waitress, she said "we are just waiting on your mushrooms" and started turning off the music, the ambiance faux fireplace on the screen, and now I'm looking at my date in silence. 🤷🏾♀️ After we received the food, we also simultaneously received the check. Like expeditiously. My eyes got WIDE when I saw the total. $92 for (1) Appetizer, (1) Entree that came with a side, (2) Carrot Cakes, (2) coconut waters (no refills). I was FLOORED. When I look at my date I said "nah they must have the wrong check" I asked the waitress to review the check with me and she scrolls on the pad and starts naming out the prices and said "It says on the door if you DINE IN we add gratuity automatically" followed by the statement of "its on the door" and points to the door. Respectfully, the one door window is busted and covered with a sheet of wood. So I'm unsure where the signage was. My date stated they also didn't notice the disclaimer, nor is it on their menu or anywhere else in the restaurant clearly for the customer to see (if I'm capping please correct). After the waitress who already didn't seem like she wanted us there, explained the pricing, I kept mouthing to my date $92 for this??? Really? The service wasn't even top notch but 92 for this??? Come on!
While we left with our minds blown at just spending $92 for (2)carrot cakes and (2) coconut waters, (1) entree and (1)appetizer, we still enjoyed the food.
One thing I will say is if you are looking for a cheap spend, do not dine here. The price IS the price added with a sprinkle of gratuity
The food was TOP TIER except for that creole mac n cheese that can honestly be taken off the menu, but to each is own. The service was mediocre, but I'll chalk it up to the waitress having a bad day or something but still.
Overall I would visit again, but just picking up to go! Hope this helps someone before...
Read moreI tried so hard not to leave this review because I didn't want to publicly say anything negative about the establishment. But after several failed attempts to contact the owner Ive decided to see if this will get a response. First, Life Bistro is one of the only restaurants that offers a alkaline vegan dish in the Metro Atlanta Area and that's why I gave them so many chances to get it right. Its hard to find prepared Alkaline food period. Therefore, because I am on a special diet (Alkaline) I have placed several orders with life Bistro for the Portobello steak Rasta Pasta (Alklaine) Gluten Free. This meal is $30.00 on Uber eats. I have to order my food online because I cannot physically go to the restaurant to get it. Because I am on a special diet when I order this meal I ask them to make it without oils and without the Portobello steak. I then always ask for extra mango salsa and extra chimmichurri. I have ordered this meal now 7 times and each time there was something wrong with my food and I am sick of it to the point that I have to write this review. The issues Ive experienced were literally all over the place. This restaurant is not consistent at all. Some issues I've experienced with my meal are: absolutely no sauce on the pasta just dry noodles(I was so pissed when the uber eats man dropped that off at my house), portion size every time I ordered was less and less and this is a $30.00 meal, I would say no portobello steak but they give me Portobello steak, I pay 5 dollars for extra mango salsa and Chimmichurri and its not in the bag (this happened more than once just throwing away money), one time my food was so oily after requesting no oil I couldn't even eat it. I always called the restaurant with my complaints because I felt like I was just throwing away money and helpless because I had to order online. (I always called in to confirm my order once placed online too just to make sure my food would be right and it still have something wrong with it). The kitchen manager or whoever answer the phone would take my name and number and says that the owner is going to call me. I never received a call after multiple attempts to reach the owner. I was offered a remake that never happened because no one ever called. But at this point I dont want a remake. Yall would have to remake sooooo many of my meals. I just want yall to do right by people! I feel like I've given this establishment so much money hoping they'll eventually get it right but clearly that is not the case. I will not be purchasing any meals from this establishment ever again! I hope that your kitchen staff find some type of system that will allow them to be more consistent in preparing dishes. I can go to the Chinese people restaurant and their food gone be the same every time. Clearly yall ain't...
Read moreI wasted my money on June 21, 2025. I had high hopes for my meal, but it was a huge disappointment. I ordered the fish and chips, collards and fried zucchini. The only thing that had flavor was the banana blossom fish. The other items were bland and I kept thinking who could messes up french fries? My friend tasted the fish, fries and zucchini and agreed with me. Actually he didn't like the banana blossom fish as much as I did. I enjoyed it's texture and seasoning but only got one piece, and a handful of tasteless fries. This appetizer was not a good value for the amount of food received and it's price. I didn't even check my order at the restaurant because I had been bragging to my friend about the popularity of the restaurant and we've had excellent experiences with the food at The Veggie Taste in the past. The zucchini fries were mushy, watery and greasy; the seasoning was confusing... not spicy or savory. The greens were the worst part. I have no idea how anyone could like them. They are sour, but not with vinegar and without salt or pepper or anything. I kept thinking no one who looks like me made these or else they're just unhappy in their life. This was the most low vibrational meal I've eaten and spending almost $40 made it worse. I even gave a tip on this take out order, because I knew it would be at least decent. I was wondering wrong.
My friend ordered the kale quinoa wrap with mac-n-cheese. The tortilla on the wrap was so dry that it was falling apart. He said that the flavor of the wrap was just okay and that he liked the mac-n-cheese, but he wasn't excited about either item. He said that he definitely won't be spending his money with y'all again, because he didn't like my food and his was just okay. We eat at vegan spots often and support black businesses as often as possible.
I really would like my money back or a replacement meal. However, I have to say that I don't really want a replacement meal, because the food should have been better in the first place. This is my second time getting a to-go order from y'all. The first time was during the pandemic. I ordered the fried oyster mushrooms. The portion size was okay, but the flavor and texture wasn't exciting at all. I was disappointed then, but I figured it was because of the pandemic. Again, when y'all vend out in the community, the food is way better.
I don't plan to ever spend any more money at Life Bistro. I've been plant-based for over 9 years, eaten soul food with many black owned restaurants, and know how to cook. After a day of moving, I was really looking forward to some tasty food and this wasn't it at all!
OMG! The women's restroom is so nasty and scary that I couldn't use the facilities. My friend said that the men's bathroom was pretty...
