3/2022: Visited on a Wednesday afternoon for lunch with a friend and the food has definitely improved. I ordered the po boy with oyster mushrooms and a side of creole mac and cheese. My friend ordered the sweet and spicy fried oyster mushrooms with a side of zucchini fries. I would have preferred the bread of the po boy to have been toasted. Also the sweet and spicy mushrooms weren't very spicy, but they were seasoned and cooked well. The mac and cheese didn't give a creole vibe but it tasted a lot better than the first time I had it a couple years ago and we enjoyed it. I enjoyed the zucchini fries and I didn't think they needed the sauce provided. All in all I throughly enjoyed the food. Oh, and everything was vegan! Our food took quite some time getting to us. We were the only table, but it looked like they were getting quite a few to go orders. Our server was nice and made sure to check in on us. Definitely give them a try! 2020 review: It can be a challenge to find good vegan food but I've heard about this place and decided to give them a try. Plus they're black owned. I tried to order online but for some reason it wouldn't accept my email. I called, explained my issue, and Jackie went ahead and took my order. She was pleasant and even called to let me know my food was ready, which was about 15 minutes. We pulled up and Jackie brought our food out to the car. I ordered the oyster po'boy with zucchini fries. My friend got the rasta pasta with mac and cheese. I thoroughly enjoyed my po'boy with the zucchini fries, which were thicker than I expected them to be. The po'boy came with a sauce, which was probably nut based but I wasn't a fan so I added sriracha. The oyster mushrooms were perfectly fried with a nice crunch. My friend wasn't as pleased with his pasta, I thought it just needed a little more seasoning. His mac was also not that great but that was probably on us bc we forgot it was vegan so our hopes were high. I would probably go back and try something different.

This was our first time eating at this restaurant. My nephew stated that he wanted to try vegan. The restaurant has a small dining setup. We arrived close to 7:15. I believe there was one waitress and cook present. When we ordered we thought that it would take about 30 mins. I assuming it that they cooked to order due to the time spent waiting on our food. We would have been okay with the wait time if we was advised before ordering. We did mentioned to the waitress that this was our first time dining at Life Bistro. There was five of us dining after spending time with my niece during her Prom photo shoot and parting ways as to say. Three of us order the shrimp pasta with sides. My son order the Philly and fries and of course the man person who wanted to try eating vegan (my nephew) ordered only collard greens and fries! Smh! The drinks arrived longer than expected. He seems as though an hour passed by and we are baffled. When will the food arrive? Mine you, that I haven’t ate all day but a Turkey and sausage snack pack. My son nothing at all due to Ramadan. The sun has set. Food still not present. Finally, the food came out but it was only the pasta without the sides. Minutes….. Later my collards arrived. My daughter and sister was still waiting on their sides which was the Cajun Macaroni. My sister had already finished her pasta. The waitress came to the table and stated that they had to make some more macaroni and it was in the oven. The nephew and my son who had the easiest food to make finally received their food. Finally the macaroni came out with the sweet potato bacon which was chips. We had to get to go. The food was really good for a vegan restaurant but not being told that we will would have to wait over an hour for our food when it was only two party guest present was exhausting. Cooking food to order is great but not advising first time guest on the lengthy time is not a good idea. I didn’t see any signs posted up regarding it. I would have given more stars but we all was exhausted for waiting to eat and our food did not come out at the same time do which lead us to wait longer for other family members to finished eating their food.

Long Review! I would have loved to leave 5 stars as a first timer at Life Bistro but I like to feel taken care of vs. taken advantage of. First, I was excited to find a vegan spot in the East Point area only 8 minutes from my home. The restaurant is cute with nice decor, customer service was inviting but I believe the label “fine dining” is kind of a reach. Second, I chose the Jumbo Kale Wrap over the Black Bean Chilaquiles that I was originally going to get because the employee told me “the wrap is big and half of it will fill you up”. Yall there is NOTHING jumbo about the Jumbo Kale Wrap & it’s definitely not worth $18 when you have other black businesses selling half wraps for $15 that are about the same size or bigger than this “jumbo” wrap imo. She also shouldn’t be telling people that a half wrap can fill you up, its a misleading sales point. The zucchini fries are mediocre good but I believe they need different packaging; the fries get soggy REAL fast in the to-go packaging. I saved half my wrap & went back up to the store to confirm if this was the jumbo wrap & in hopes to talk things out vs. leaving a bad review. After expressing my dislikes I was only granted the zucchini fries remake and they seemed to be fried harder this time but were still soggy by the time I reached home (which is less than 10 mins away). I feel like I deserved a free or discounted meal for my extended grace but whatever. Lastly, to add insult to injury the wait was a little long and the restaurant wasn’t busy and I was handed the wrong food at first. Checked food when I got to the car and DECIDED to bring the food back instead of driving off and making them remake food. I will give them another try for the sake of other reviews on how good the food is, and this being a black owned business. Don’t disappoint me next time, Life Bistro. Treat guests well so they will return!

Well...... I had this place saved on my "New Vegan Food List" of restaurants to go-to. I decided to come here for my birthday brunch just with my family since we're in the midst of moving. There was only one waitress working on a spring Sunday morning. We arrived around 2:17pm. Ordered our fresh juices. The cucumber based one was refreshing but the orange one is way better in taste! The zucchini appetizer and the Lobsta Dip appetizer was soooooooo good!!! Funny she suggested to get extra bread, but only do that if you eat a lot of bread. We waited approximately 30min maybe 41min to get our appetizerz. There isn't a busser or hostess to help her. So she's handling all the walk-in and pick-up orders as well. Why didn't a manager come out and assist her? IDK. We sat so long that brunch was "over" yet that's what we wanted. My husband ended up getting the rasta pasta. Tasty. Yet I wanted the bistro brunch platter and baby girl wanted the pancakes. We waited entirely too long to get a chance to order our food. But our waitress, pregnant too, ended up getting them to "make more batter" and to "turn the waffle maker back on". That put a dent in our experience especially since #TabithaBrown was recommending this place so much! She ended up getting her pancakes and I got the platter...but when I tell you my waffle was burnt on one side and not fluffy. I was done. The whole experience. A big birthday for me. And our first time. It's like no one wants to have you actually dine in anymore!! They only want quick take out orders. They automatically charge 20% gratuity.... That's fine with me because I normally do that anyways but I will contest it if the service sucks. She tried but was really overwhelmed. It will be a while before I go back for dine in. There's too many options out here.

I’m not a Vegan, however, I love good food! The Beginning: Doing our normal FriendDateDay, Jan chose this establishment for our new find. As always, I was down for something new. Upon pulling up, please DO NOT judge a book by its cover. The inside is very clean, pretty, and has a great ambiance. The color esthetic is melanin focused with earth brown as a primary and really sets a soothing tone. Upon seating ourselves, our waitress was at the table within seconds. She arrived with a warm smile and pleasant greetings. She presented us with the menu and presented us with some of the food highlights. The Food: I decided on the Jumbo Kale Wrap with Fries. First off, hear me clearly when I say WOWSERS. I don’t know who their fry cook is, but babeeeeeeeeeee….. The way them French fries were perfectly fried and seasoned. Oh yes Hunni! You know I loves me a good fry. This fry was from French Fry Dreamland and was kissed by the seasoned Gawz. If you are into fries, get you an order… Ok! Now that I have made myself hungry, let’s talk the Jumbo Kale Wrap. 3 words: Fresh. Flavorful. Filling. It checked all 3 boxes and I loved it. The dressing that is drizzled on it adds a hint of tang and a splash of creamy, don’t tell them I told you but ask for a bit on the side to dip the wrap in. It is amazing. I must admit, this was a very pleasing experience. I will definitely be back again to partake in more of the menu offerings. Service- 9/10 Food- 10/10 Environment- 10/10

We went in pretty early, so there wasn’t much going on. Seemed they were still prepping and sweeping up from the previous night, but that had no bearing on our dining experience. Our server was pleasant, and offered us a sample of the ginger tea before we ordered it, which is AMAZING by the way. My husband stuck to his normal “cheesesteak” option, which made me incredibly jealous because the flavors were bold and beefy and was one of the best sandwiches I’ve had, vegan or non vegan. My daughter had the shrimp pasta, and those flavors are more light but still really delicious. I held out on eating vegan “shrimp” because as a seafood-loving Florida girl, I figured I would just eliminate it from my diet altogether. I must say, the texture of the “shrimp” is spot on and the flavor is almost comparable. Would I eat them again? Probably not. I can have pasta without it. But it’s definitely a good option for those who don’t prefer a “meatless” pasta. I ordered the “chicken” and waffles with oyster mushrooms. The waffle was good, but the oyster mushrooms with the sweet chili sauce was AMAZING! Loved the vibe in this place. I will definitely return very soon.
