Went with my Wife for our 22 year Anniversary. We made reservations a week in advance. We studied the online seasonal menu and knew exactly what we wanted. We arrived on 12/21/19 for our dinner and was giving our menu. Now this menu is a quarter shy of the online menu. So anyway we began to order and we were informed that they only have half of this menu. At this point why even give a menu. Only have 3 or 4 dinner items on it anyway. None of what we looked at online for a week. Even out of the Appetizers we wanted. Well we are already disappointed with poor selection of available menu items. To top it all off we did not have the best Server. Looks like other servers were working well. Ours could not keep a glass of tea filled. It was refilled by the hostess once and another time by what Im guessing was the manager. When time to check out we gave card to our waitress and took 20 min to get card back and payment made. Not sure what took so long for a Saturday night it was not to busy. I ordered the lamb and it looked and tasted like Pot Roast i would not have normally ordered this. But not a lot of choices. I just think if you are not going to have half of the menu, You should post it online or message the guest with reservations. Was not at all Happy with this at all. Porsche should be embarrassed to have such poor performance at just a wonderful great looking sight. I gave a 2 Star just because it appeared to be clean and they view and decor was nice. I have never written a bad review before. But this was upsetting. A long drive for nothing. We left hungry and got fast food on the way home. We both go to work the following Monday where everyone ask how it was and hated to disappoint everyone with this...
Read moreLet me preface by saying I dont eat at this level of fine dining very often. We had a party of 4. We started with the cornbread and charcuterie. Both were delicious but the cornbread was the size of 4 madeleines. I could eat 12 they were so good. The charcuterie was delicious as well! 2 meats, 2 cheese, grapes, toasts, fresh honeycomb....delicious! Also, we were brought some amazing pretzel rolls that I also wanted 12 of. For my meal I had 2 starters: the carrot ginger soup and prawn. The soup was a bit sweet and really needed a savory item with it. I wish I had the pretzel roll with it. Dont get me wrong, it was delicious! The prawn was good but didnt have the wow factor the other items had. It was served with grilled pineapple. The rest of the table had the prime rib and a duck special as they were not serving the lobster ravioli. All plates were cleaned! So dessert...this is where they really excel in my opinion. I had a banana based dessert that was a banana cake with tiny banana slices, chocolate dollop, toasted marshmallow drops and coffee ice cream. I did the ice cream separate because I hate coffee but everyone agreed it was amazing. My dessert did not suffer by not having it and I loved every delicious bite! There was a lemon raspberry item my husband ordered and then there was a lunchbox of goodies. I was jealous I did not order it but it was 30 bucks and I needed to behave. It had macaroons, homemade oatmeal cream pies, Snickerdoodle, truffles, and chocolate chip cookies. There were 3-4 mixed drinks and 2 beers for a total of 350 or...
Read moreThis was our first visit to the Porsche 356 restaurant. I think we'll have to go again just so I can make a fair assessment. But on first blush I'm not that impressed. Our waitress was absolutely horrible, annoying, pompous, and rattled off menu suggestions with a bump-stock like inefficiency. My view of the restaurant; I expected a much classier fine dining experience. We've dined in some pretty fine restaurants and country clubs throughout the world and 356 falls flat. For dinner the lights were up too high so it was way too bright. The service was Waffle House quality however the food was delicious, absolutely delicious. But it was not served hot, more like tepid. I understand in the winter it's tough to get the food out in a timely manner, but the plates should have been at least warmed so as not to drain the heat out of the entrees. The soup was tepid (most likely because it was ladled into a cold bowl), and the rest of the meal was not piping hot. I was also struck by the casualness of the other diners. For a meal for two that came to $275 (with tip) the other patrons looked and dressed as though they had just walked in off the street. One was actually wearing camo and a baseball cap, at dinner! So my overall assessment at this point is take your money and go elsewhere. But in all fairness, we'll give it one more opportunity to impress. On our way out we struck up a conversation with a server named Tae (?). He seemed very knowledgeable and quite professional. Next time we'll ask for...
