I thought long before placing this review but I think it's a shame that patronizing people are false to suffer consistent bad service. I understand these times and I am very understanding of those who work in the food service industry but there is a certain level customer care that everyone should receive. I placed my order 1/5/22, my dasher went to pick it up but she had to leave after waiting nearly an hour. The line was to long and she had other deliveries. I understand that a dry through during the pandemic can get crowded and they are probably lacking workers. No problem. THEN,, a second dasher arrives 30 plus minutes later. The line is much shorter. He makes it to the pick up window about 15inutes after arriving which is also 45 plus minutes since the last dasher left. The restaurant is closed but orders are still being picked up. Finally when he tries to pick up the order. The manager says that another dasher picked it up less than 5bminutes ago. It's obvious they gave my food out to someone else after I waited 2 hrs for it. The manager asked the dasher to speak to me personally which is a great gesture and I just knew he would apologize and replace the order since he gave it to the wrong dasher. Instead he told me that he is not making my order again I explained that it appeared he gave my food to the wrong dasher and I had been waiting over 2hrs. He refused to take responsibility. In fact he claimed it was impossible that he made the mistake because he scanned the bag. Regardless of what he scanned he certainly gave the bag to the wrong dasher. Worse he won't admit to it and instead said "yes, I'm sorry about that." No offer to refund, no offer to replace, just an applology for the missing $25 order. It was such a pathetic response, and even though this order was for a guest, I will never ever deal with this location or...
Read moreVisited this establishment to grab a "slush" for my daughter. The line was extremely long. That should have been my first clue that the experience wasn't going to be pleasant but it was her birthday weekend and so we pressed onward.
We waited, and waited and waited. When we finally reached the drive through ordering system a lady came out and we thought she was coming to take our order. Instead she directed us to the ordering box. Upon trying to place the order we were told it would be another 10 minutes before they could even take our order, keep in mind we're just there for one "slush".
We looked to find the lady that was standing outside to take our order. She then FINALLY asked what we wanted and I told her. She got on her radio and asked them to prepare the drink and told us someone would bring it out. We also learned this woman was the manager of the store.
A young lady eventually brought out the order. We paid her and we were on our way after waiting about 50 minutes for one drink. Upon pulling off a good amount of cars had arrived to park in the parking lot of Sonic. They were blasting music and standing outside hanging out, for the most part loitering and trespassing.
To sum it up this experience was "trash" I will never go back to this place. I gave them two stars because the manager did come out to try to move the line a bit but we waited a ridiculous amount of time to get one drink, the inside staff had horrible attitudes, the quality of the product was average and the atmosphere felt unsafe in the parking lot due to the suspect behavior of people hanging out like they were at a car show...
Read moreUnless you have nothing better to do than idle your car's engine for a minimum of 30 minutes in order to invariably be rewarded with cold, mediocre tasting fare that won't come close to being an accurate reflection of the food and drink items you ordered, do the indisputably sane thing and AVOID THIS LOCATION AT ALL COSTS AND AT ALL TIMES!!!! After visits on consecutive days, it's safe to say that the Moreland Avenue franchise is woefully understaffed, poorly managed, and incapable of executing the most basic tasks. For instance, different drive thru order takers on both visits incorrectly insisted that Mayo is only added to sandwiches on request, which needlessly led to several sandwich items having to be discarded and prepared anew. Unless the corporate office fully redirects it's attention to remedying the culture of abyssmal customer service that exists at this (and, very likely a multitude of other) franchise (s), SONIC IS DOOMED TO DISAPPEAR from the US fast food landscape by year's end. That will be the moment when the inevitable (and long overdue) initial raise in the national minimum wage to at least $11 per hour will begin to take effect, in turn obviously making it impossible for its franchises to sell their subpar "value meals" of burgers, fries, and chicken tenders for the $10 plus required to remain...
