This is a pretty new spot, and I hope they can tweak things, because the core product - smash burgers - are good. Like, fairly good. Greasy, wide & thin patties cooked on a flattop with their spice - not too dry or overdone after. Good.
That said, we were charged $9.50 for a handful of fries with bacon bits and a cheese cup, with a soda, because the guy at register said he didn't know how to ring up the fries without a drink combo.
The burgers themselves are on the high end of price. $15 burgers are normal now at a casual dini g restaurant, but it's still annoying to see them at a lunch counter with no table service - and especially when all toppinga are an additional dollar or two.
We paid $41.46 for two burgers, fries, and a 16oz coke. 10% tip for the counter means $45.46 for food. If the fry portion was double or half price, if the burgers were a few dollars cheaper each, I'd like this place a lot more.
