I leave this review as a first time customer at Weezy's and was shocked at the experience I encountered. I could not decide where to sit because not only was the establishment decked out to the T the seating was very chic and the design was well thought out. However, I end up at the bar with the beautiful and amazing mixologist herself, Dominique. I enjoyed her genuine company while I waited on a friend to come we laughed, had a great time, and she made me a wonderful drink called Pushin P, I recommend anyone to try it. My friend finally arrives and he orders his Long Island which might I add was amazing as well. We continued having a great time with the other employees as well as Dominique. Dominque kindly asked was I ready to order now that my friend arrived. So, I ordered a Medium-RARE Ribeye w/ Brussel sprouts, and a side of sunny side up egg. I did ask for the steak to be seasoned a certain way however, I was advised steaks come pre-seasoned. I said ok fine. I waited for my food to come out while still having a great time with everyone at the bar which at this point there was another customer there as well. Dominique soon brings my food out and immediately I knew my steak was overcooked. It was very dry. It was very well done. No part on my steak was medium-rare. Not even in the middle. So I then take a bite just to see if maybe the steak tasted good because I might've been able to look passed it not being cooked how I requested but the steak had no taste. No season. All I asked for was salt and pepper. I expressed my concern to Dominique and I just told her I'd order another item on the menu. I'm assuming she told someone in the back because shortly he by the name of Jeremy came right back out with the nastiest attitude. Pointing his fingers and getting loud with Dominique in front of myself and my friend and another customer at the bar. To the point where my friend, told him he didn't have to talk to her like that ESPECIALLY in front of customers. Not only were we having an amazing time most importantly him being a man should never speak to a woman in the condescending tone he had in front of customers. Yelling that, "someone is going to have to pay for this steak.." When the complaint came from me as a customer. His argument was that the food was ready for 24 mins and was sitting under the heated lamp in the back. Yes we were having a great time however, that was impossible for a medium-rare steak to be cooked by a heated lamp in 24 mins. The problem was the steak was never medium-rare. After his little debacle, it completely changed the atmosphere that we created before he ruined it completely. We were so disturbed by his negative energy, my friend asked to speak with him and I explained to him that his theory just didn't make sense and its not what you do its how you do it. Never should he have did that in front of us being customers. He came back with, "I'm not the one who cooked the food." Brushed us off and went right back to the back. Nonetheless, he should've never been speaking to her in that manner being a black queen that she is there should be a higher level of respect when speaking to her knowing you're of the complete and total opposite sex which, the finger pointing at a woman is ultimately disrespectful regardless of what community you're apart of and the tone of voice just should never be tolerated in a place of business and as a first time customer I leave a 1 star review not for Dominique she receives 10 stars. This isn't for the other customers I interacted with and enjoyed their company as well, this is strictly for management because to my assumption he was someone in management and he needs to be reprimanded. I was actually appalled to find out he was in management and I honestly don't see myself coming back to partake in this establishment if this is how things are ran. I don't think that anyone should deserve such scrutiny and embarrassment while working and doing your job. There should be a level of...
Read moreAbsolute WORST experience, today was my first time visiting with co-workers and I would never return. I arrived at 12pm to meet my colleagues for brunch and paid $10 to park in the lot designated for the restaurant (parking is $10 or $20 depending on the spot you select). I met one of my coworkers at the entrance and as we attempted to enter the door man asked to check our ID and purses. My coworker is 20 yrs old, she turns 21 next month we asked if it was possible to make an acceptation to let her in and I promised she would not order any alcohol. He said that it was their policy to not allow anyone under 21 yrs old however he asked if I had any money. I was taken aback at the question, I responded yes I do but not on me. I didn't bring any cash, and why are you asking? He said he'd be willing to take a tip to allow her in. I was completely shocked, so the policy is that she can't come in UNLESS there's a monetary gain for you? I was beyond pissed, we had been planning this for over 2 months and it was all 4 of our first time visiting. We didn't realized it was a lounge, we thought it was an upscale restaurant. I went inside to let those in our party who had already arrived know what was happening and to speak with management. I ended up speaking to the hostess and informing her of what had happened and asked to speak with a manager, she blatantly LIED and told me there was no manager present when he was sitting right in front of us unknown to me. I went back outside to say goodbye to our under 21 coworker since she wasn't willing to pay $20 for the ability to enter a lounge after she'd already paid $20 to park then will be spending money to eat and drink. Once I went back inside I sat at the bar with my other coworkers as we waited for the rest of our party to arrive, I noticed a man sitting across from us who I could tell worked there but wasn't a server. I asked him if he knew when the manager would be arriving and he said he WAS the manager. As you can imagine I was now even more pissed to realize the hostess was lying to protect the door man by saying there's no manager present when he was sitting there the whole time. I told him what had happened with the door man AND the lying hostess, he apologized on the restaurant's behalf and assured me he would address the situation with both employees. Based on this experience I would NOT recommend anyone waste their time or money at this establishment. I hope the owner of this place sees this review and addresses the situation, as a business owner and manager myself I would be mortified to find out all of this is happening behind my back...jeopardizing the my source of income, reputation and integrity of my business. Surprisingly once I left the restaurant I went to meet some family at a birthday party and told them what happened, they mentioned to me that they too had a poor experience the day before at this restaurant and wouldn't be...
Read moreI wish I could give -0 stars!!! Please visit this establishment at your own risk!!! This was a very Terrible, Horrible experience. I was at Wheezy’s Atl to celebrate a friends birthday Saturday 3/8/25. I paid $125 to book the reservations for 7:15 pm. 2 out of the 5 ppl in my party were there about 10 mins early. My friend paid the $20.00 to park. We walk up to the restaurant to a very long line that was all the way out of the door. There is a security guard/bouncer at the door, about 10 mins after myself and my friend were standing outside the door in line, he yells does anybody have reservations, myself and 3 other groups separate from mine raised our hands, he then goes on to ask is everyone that is on the reservation here. I was still waiting on two more ppl. The security guard then tells me I have to continue to wait outside in line, until everyone listed on my reservation has arrived. Mind you I had on heels! Everyone listed on my reservation arrived like 5 mins later, we still had to continue to wait in line until a table was available for us to sit. We finally get to go inside about 30 mins later. They practically sat us in the middle of the aisle. A waitress comes over to our table, we order appetizers & drinks. We also ordered a Hookah. It took FOREVER for the drinks to come out. The appetizers came out with the food. For the appetizers I ordered the Fried Green Tomatoes and chicken skins . The chicken skins were actually chicken nuggets, with one maybe two actually skins that didn’t taste like chicken! The friend green tomatoes were not good! The tomatoes on the inside were hard and the batter used on them tasted like unseasoned corn meal. The dipping sauce for both were equally disgusting. Also the tables are so low to the ground, we basically had to bend over to eat, very uncomfortable position to eat in. Back to the Hookah we ordered, it never came out, so I attempted to try and cancel it, for me to be told, I wasn’t allowed to cancel the hookah, and that I would still be charged if I did cancel it. I then asked how much longer before the hookah came out to us and the guy stated a few more mins, after our conversation, the hookah then came right out. Along with our food. Ok so my friend ordered French toast, it’s garnished with fruit, he specifically told our waitress when he was placing his order No berries as he is highly allergic and carries an epi pen because if it. His food came out covered in berries, we notified the waitress, who then says she told the cook no berries. What else do we what her to do, we asked for a manager. The manager came out with and attitude and was very sassy. He did offer my friend Benadryl; but to even get to that point was like pulling teeth. This was an overall terrible experience, and a terrible Birthday experience for my friend. We actually plan to do her birthday over somewhere else, because Wheezys Atl is a trifling establishment! Go at...
