The meadow at Tanyard Creek serves as a multi-use area and IS NOT an off-leash dog park. A ticket from the police will clarify this considerably since it is not payable until you go to court. Court is downtown and is by design not an experience most humans would care to go through. I know because I was there several years ago and it cost me about $180 when I had to appear before a judge due to my dog playing off-leash. Please do not post that this is okay. Many new dwellers in Atlanta who have dogs are allowing them off-leash and don't stop to read the signs that make this very clear. Pause to consider for a brief moment the dogs are running over a memorial created in honor of the 1,000 lives lost in the Tanyard Creek meadow as a consequence of a TERRIBLE war. A war my great-grandfather would have witnessed. A dog park in Atlanta has specific boundaries and is created as a facility to serve the needs of dog-owners who want to experience their off-leash...
Read moreNice place set on the beltline. Good for taking walks or running. Great picture op's and plenty of beautiful things of nature to enjoy.
Very peaceful and serene to be right in the heart of Atlanta. There are several sets of stairs to get to the creek but with help I think a wheel chair should make it down to the trail pretty easily.
Great place to take the kido's for a little nature walk and there's a huge patch of beautiful lush green grass to play on. There are no tables to sit at or any restrooms. But there are several places along the walls of the stairs to sit and rest and enjoy the scenery.
I recommend checking this spot out. very limited parking and the entrance is kind of hidden, just as you come around a curve. But you have two different sides of the bridge to walk and park. Very safe Buckhead area. Love the mural of the Koi fish in black and white. So glad to see Atlanta is seeing graffiti as an art...
Read moreThis has got to be one of my favorite lunch parks I have found so far! It's not very big, but what it doesn't have in size it makes up for in natural noise and a feeling of isolation in nature if you face the right direction. I took lunch in the creek connected to the park by a waterway. The running water and little waterfalls pretty much removed all the car noise.
If you aren't out for a lunch walking the creek bed is a fun little jaunt, but there isn't much here other than historical marks about the Battle of Peachtree Creek.
The park is off the beltline and isn't a bad stop for a break on a bike or jog or a quick detour when on a walk. The Beltline running adjacent/through it really makes for a nice bit of non-car dependent connectivity.
Park also has a small parking lot for someone on a work lunch break who has to drive a vehicle.
See my pictures for an idea of the park, parking, and places to sit...
