I recently had a highly disappointing experience at Atwater sushi, a sushi restaurant that has unfortunately deteriorated over time. Once a go-to spot for fresh and delicious sushi, it has now become a place I would advise everyone to avoid.
To start with, the sushi did not taste fresh at all. The fish had a questionable texture and flavor, leaving me concerned about its quality and safety. For a cuisine that relies heavily on freshness, this is simply unacceptable.
Additionally, the service was atrocious. The hostess was incredibly rude and seemed annoyed by basic questions and requests. This lack of professionalism made the dining experience even more unpleasant.
To add insult to injury, they tried to charge me extra for wasabi. When I received my takeout order, I found just a small smear of wasabi in the corner of the box, far from what I would expect. This level of stinginess is disappointing and felt like a blatant attempt to nickel and dime customers.
It's sad to see how much this restaurant has declined. It used to be a favorite of mine, but given the current state of their food and service, I won't be returning. If you're looking for good sushi, do yourself a favor and find another place. This one is not worth your time or...
Read moreWanted to give this place another try after the last time when they didn't have some of the basic items on the menu for me. Had the Chasu Ramen with an added egg, a side order of Gyoza and a Ramune: the ramune was good but they should have a better selection of flavors; the gyoza was very good, but the Ponzu dipping sauce that accompanied it was very unwelcoming to my taste. When I asked a server what it was and mentioned the taste, she confirmed my suspicions; she did offer to change the sauce, but I decided to stick with it and thought the flavor might grow on me with time: it didn't. Finally, the main attraction in my book: The Chashu Ramen. It was delicious and welcoming; the broth and noodles were a perfect combination of texture and flavor. Some of the add-ins, however, were not so perfect. The boiled egg was not a slight runny consistency it could have been, there was too much seaweed and bamboo and the pieces could have been cut smaller. Also wish they had a little more variety of add-in. As far as atmosphere, not a traditional Japanese interior and it wasn't crowded at all when I was there, even for lunchtime. Bottom line, this...
Read moreWe order often from here, many of us do at work. Today, they put sauce on one roll when they were told not to (we dont eat mayo based sauce). They also didnt deep fry another roll when they were told to. We went back to have a new roll made sans the sauce, they said they are refusing to remake it and wanted to charge for a whole new roll. Oh and they charged for the sauce they shouldn't have put in the first place. Also charged for the deep fry. They refused to give any refunds or make a new one without paying for it. They said "you accepted the order when you walked out with it!" The bag was tied up tight, didnt think we had to do your job for you by making sure it was correct. They will not be getting our business again. Crappy service all around!
**Then to respond to my review without taking any accountability for their mistakes! Rather than apologizing and correcting the mistake, they decided to basically blame us for how we ordered it when it was confirmed prior to picking it up. NOT THAT HARD TO OWN UP TO YOUR...
