Let me preface this by saying that I am well traveled and that I have always enjoyed the taste of good food and have always been one to look for something I will remember. There is a reason why many people think of a last meal in our final moments, and why a good meal can take us back in time into our memories. The smells and flavors that we experience form direct links to our emotions and memories. East to West cost this is by far the best vientnamese restaurant that I have ever tried. I for one cannot belive I am saying this about a place in Rochester Michigan of all places since you would expect that a meal like this has to only be available in a big coast city, but to my pleasant surprise it is indeed found here. It's not just the generous portions or the diversity of flavors offered here. It's the knowledge that after a full year of living here and trying nearly every dish on the menu (even some not on it) I have never once been disappointed. The complexity of aromas and colors that accompany some of the dishes such as the pork belly Claypot or the fish and lemongrass hotpot. As someone who has always traveled and been around many friends who have made their home away from Vietnam. I can honestly say this truly is a taste of its wonderful food.
Oakland Students check out the Bahn mi and don't forget to ask for a fried egg in it. Can't beat a sandwich like that for the price with a truly...
Read moreThe best soup I have EVER had. I ordered the fried shrimp cakes and the Chicken + Meatball Pho, and I savored every single bite. The rest of the table enjoyed their food, too. The broth of my pho was absolutely perfect, so full of flavor and body, there was plenty of chicken, and the meatballs were nice, although I wish there were more. I added some of the spicy garlic sauce they have (I had to request this) and it added so much to the flavor. The noodles were perfectly cooked and there were so many of them, too. When the bowl was placed in front of me, I thought there'd be no way I could finish this. It's too much food! But I ate every last noodle and drank every last drop (almost). It was just that good, I've been craving this place since. If I had to give a complaint... the menu is filled with typos and covered with stickers with changed prices. The stickers wouldn't be an issue if they weren't so...
Read moreVery nice place to grab some nice warm noodle soups on a nice cold day whether it be Pho or Bun. The staff is quite friendly though I'd wish the food came out according it feels mish-mash and it took way long for my sons food to come out. The food however is amazing and I love me some "good" pho. It takes a lot for me to like pho since I feel my mother makes the best. I always rate it on flavor and size per price. This pho taste amazing, it has very nice flavor without me adding anything extra to it. It taste as if the beef fat, meat, and bone marrow were all in sync to produce this masterpiece. Although the size was pretty on par with the other places I like to go to it was slightly more expensive but worth it. The other foods was good too although I only had a little taste of it but their meat is seasoned very well. Will definitely visit again to obtain...
