Came here to celebrate our anniversary. We have never been to The HUB and thought it sounded like it could be a really enjoyable place to relax and enjoy an evening.
We booked a swing suite two weeks in advanced. It was almost a week before we were suppose to arrive on site and we called to extend our reservation for two hours instead of one. The person on the phone told us that it wouldn't be a problem and she could do that immediately while we were still on the phone. A week went by and we arrived to The HUB excited for the night. When we came to the desk we noticed that our reservation was only for one hour still and was never changed. When we asked about it, we were told that it was not possible because there was a private event scheduled for 7pm when our reservation ended. Already somewhat disappointed we made our way to the booth where a group was still playing. Their time lapsed into ours and when they left there was still dirty dishes everywhere. The game area was left trashed. The person working the desk (short, pink haired, female) came up and started us up on the simulator and asked us if we were good. After we said yes she said that she would clean up the area after we got started, which she did but then left right away. No safety instructions, no general instructions for the equipment. From there we started playing and our server came up (curly haired blonde). She greeted us without introducing herself and offered to get us drinks. We ordered and she brought them to us within a very reasonable time. From there we saw her very little. She would occasionally come up and just ask if we "were good?" No upselling, no recommendations, no offers to refill drinks. Shortly into our gameplay we ran into difficulties. The simulator was not functioning correctly and we were wasting our time swinging at golf balls and nothing was registering on the screen. I had to go hunt down another employee (because no one was checking in on us) and ask for help. This young man was setting up for the event after us and was very nice, professional, and courteous. He went a got the same pink haired girl that set us up in the beginning. We explained the issue and she sort of sighed and restarted the program then asked me to swing at the ball a few times which I did. Some worked and some didn't. The only thing she told us from there was that it was the hat I was wearing and that if we needed anything else to let her know. She gave us an additional 15 minutes from there. I tried swinging multiple times even with my hat removed and it was not working most of the time. We decided that since we felt like a bother to the staff, it wasn't worth the trouble of bringing them back to help and blame us further for their equipment not functioning correctly. We wasted 40 minutes out of the hour swinging at nothing. The really ridiculous part of this is that we were charged 80 dollars to hit golf balls at a tarp and not play anything on the simulator. After we were done with our time we felt rushed out of the area and we still had beverages to finish. We attempted to find somewhere to sit and enjoy the drinks but the place was so chaotic there was no clear area to just sit and enjoy a drink. At this point were worth both irritated with the staff and disappointed with the evening as a whole so we left. The worst part is I was looking at this place to host events in the future. Sadly with the performance that I have seen from this evening. I may have...
Read moreMy wife and I now live out of state, so whenever we are in town, we try to meet up with friends, colleagues and family. We’ve done that at the Hub a few times and it always worked nicely. This time was quite a different experience. We invited a bunch of people but we never really know who will be available and how long they will be able to visit, so it’s like a pot luck, people come in, stay for a while, we catch up and they leave. Some peeps stay a few minutes, some people stay for the whole time we’re there. This time, we had a total of 50 people that showed up. But… the Hub’s new policy is that any group larger than 8 people will be handled on a SINGLE bill. We want to meet with people, but we don’t want to pay for everyone, so we explained that each person would want/need to pay their own bill. They categorically refused to do so and I had to provide my CC for all orders to end up on my card. I was told that I would then need to check with each person as to what they ordered and collect money from them. Everyone that walked into the place was “greeted” with an explanation from the manager that this was the policy so if they were to order something, it would all be on my bill. Every single person was dumb founded and felt weird about it. Some people didn’t have cash to pay us back or didn’t use Venmo or other apps, so in the end, we all had a fantastic time meeting up, but very few drinks and very little food was ordered. Our total bill for the evening (from 4:30pm to 10pm) was $270, tip included and all. For a group of 50 people, this is ridiculous! The place could have made so much more money from our group, but their unreasonable/impractical policy completely backfired on them. And despite trying to tell them it would have been in the best interest of us/our guests/them, to not apply their policy, they doubled down and were borderline rude to our guests. Unless they change their policy, we will never go back to the Hub for this...
Read moreWe went to the HUB for the first time last weekend to throw axes. First let me say the food was amazing. Our waiter was great too. We had a reservation for 10pm so we showed up at 830 to be sure we were able to get to our reservation on time. I had told the front desk person we were there for a reservation and had never been before and we wanted to be sure we were checked in. That person told us we'd be fine to eat our meals and head over. Fast forward to 945 and were boxing our food up to be on time. I asked our waiter if we needed to rush over there or if we were good to take our time and run food out to the car. We get to the axe throwing counter to check in, they said they didn't know if we were coming since it was 955 now. While the entirety of our night I checked with different staff members to be sure since we've never been. We waited and finally got back to our station to throw axes and had to wait for our trainer to get to us. By this time it's 1020. We mentioned to the trainer what the disconnect was and he just said oh that happens. There wasn't a party booked after us for the stall and we essentially lost out on $50 for our time to throw. The start of our night was great but the events leading up to the throwing made the experience rushed and frustrating since I was thinking about the time we lost and weren't offered back. The food was great but our tab/bill was incredibly mixed up even though we were 2 couples sitting across from each other so I spent about a half hour at the bar trying to resolve the tickets. Overall not a great first experience and I understand it's a Saturday night and it's busy. We also consider that staffing may have been short but it was a bummer we had so many mix ups with no offer of...
