I was torn between 3 and 4 stars. I'm definitely somewhere in between. The staff here at this particular Baker campus is great. I always get the help I need whether it's from financial aid or the ARC. I've enjoyed most of my professors immensely with a couple of exceptions of the online ones. My issue with Baker College isn't the staff; it's the curriculum. I've been attending Baker for about a year and I'm almost done with my prerequisites. My issue is that, at least for the classes I'm taking, the professors have NO control over the class. They don't create the quizzes or the exams. They don't even get to look at the exams before they're given. They are trying the best they can, but they simply don't know how to prepare us for our finals. I have finals coming up next week and I literally do not know what I'm supposed to be studying, and the professor doesn't know how to help me. It was the same story last semester. I'm applying to the nursing program soon. I just hope it's better once I'm in my program, or that this screwed up curriculum doesn't hinder my GPA and prevent me...
Read moreTeachers don't teach and sometimes treat you like your in high school. I'm going for management and some of the Course work doesn't have anything to do with the class. They don't give you a lot of financial aid money because they retention rate is very low 10% and graduation rate is even lower 4 %. Students that go here act like they have something stuck up there butts and the school doesn't feel like a college environment. If your a student of color this school is not for you as you can feel the prejudice atmosphere from the students. I was in one class and our instructor (not professor) put use into groups. They students who were white didn't even acknowledge me or listen to any of my suggestions for the group. I told the instructor about it and he said that his colleague did him the same way!!!! All they care about is your money run far away from this school. Go to a school that's going to give a real college experience that is more accepting to different...
