Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Auburn Hills

Avoid this location if you can. The team lead here is EXTREMELY rude to both staff and customers. For one, we were the only ones in the place at first, so the order should’ve been quick. One smoothie was made, left on the back counter, then she started to take 8 other orders before coming back to ours. She handed my boyfriend his smoothie, then we watched 4 other orders get done. I stepped up to ask about mine and she goes “I’m clearly busy and trying to catch up as you can see we’re behind. It’ll be ready when it’s ready.” I snapped back at her because we were there first and she was rude. While we were waiting, she rudely responded to someone asking about a pickup order saying “do you see it on the shelf? It’ll be there when it’s ready.” She even rudely told her coworker to ask someone about chips when she mentioned they were out of BBQ chips. I couldn’t believe the level of disrespect this person gave to her coworker and the customers. I snapped back at her when she finally handed me my now melted smoothie because her behavior was unacceptable. Management either needs to replace her as team lead or put her through training again because at this rate, she’s going to drive customers away with her negative, aggressive attitude and disrespect. Easily the worst Tropical Smoothie Cafe I have ever visited, not even close.

Placed an online order - 12:49 pickup time on the order slip. Too many issues to even remember.

Wraps came out 20 minutes late, about 1:10pm, smoothies took another 10 minutes. Workers were about 20-30 minutes behind. Wraps were not wraps, they had been forced into a square shape and pressed in the sandwich press to stay that way. They fell apart and made a mess. two Peanut Butter cup smoothies were made without chocolate and came out white in color like it was just crushed ice and bananas. one kid worker was trying really hard, but he was the one making everything wrong. the other kid worker did not wear gloves, was using his sweatshirt arm-sleeve to wipe the sides of smoothie cups before he handed them to customers....one customer even called him out on it. He was wiping his hands on his pants, and even on the inside of the ice bin once.....he was a walking health code violation, and was basically useless, he was making about 1 smoothie every 10 minutes. I wanted to ask for a refund onsite, but these 2 kids were so flustered it would have broke them. This owner should loose his...

I ordered two things with two separate transactions: a chicken quesadilla was my first transaction, and my second transaction was a strawberry banana smoothie and a pomegranate bliss. With the chicken quesadilla, my order came out okay, so I'm not mad at it. For the second transaction, the strawberry banana smoothie was mostly ice, and the pomegranate bliss was okay and had more flavor.

But at the end of the transaction, while we were waiting for our order, my friend and I were... I went to the bathroom, and when I came out, they were yelling at my friend. She was sitting down eating her chicken quesadilla, waiting for me, and I had just come out of the bathroom. They were yelling at my friend, "Do you need something? Do you need something? Hello, do you need something?" My friend was saying, "No, I'm just trying to eat. I'm waiting for my friend." And they were still yelling, "Do you need something?"
