I was very disappointed with my lunch experience here. I ordered the bam bam shrimp and it was a little over ten dollars and didn't include any sides with it. When the waitress brought the orders of the 2 other people I was joining she said mine would be up shortly. She then refilled our drinks and asked how things were with their meal and not wanting to complain one simply said they were disappointed with the wings she ordered because it didn't have any flats out of the 12 wings. The waitress was very nice and asked if she could do anything to make it better. Not wanting to complain my friend said no and it was fine. Again the waitress was very nice and apologized and walked away. She came back and had my plate that had 7 small shrimp on it. The waitress then told us she talked to the manager about the wings because it bothered her because she too liked the flats and wanted him to know. He came to our table and said that that's just what came in the box and that it wasn't hand picked and next time ask for some flats. He didn't seem to be concerned about situation but he did ask if he could get us anything else. I wasn't going to say anything but it bothered me how he blew her off or so it seemed and said jokingly that he could bring the rest of my shrimp. He said you have and then counted out loud 7 shrimp. He looked surprised and said it comes with 8 so let me get you another one. Several minutes later he came back with 2 more shrimp that were smaller than the original 7 and said that he was going to give me an extra one for the mistake. If he had given me 4 it wouldn't have been as big as the others and they were small themselves. Our server was great and very friendly and I have no complaints as far as service. I wouldn't have been as disappointed with the 7 small shrimp but after the way it was handled by the manager it was insulting. The sweet waitress was more concerned than management and I rarely get upset or complain about issues with my meal and realize things happen and maybe it was just an unusual mishap. But I'm this situation where the server actually felt the need to bring it to the manager and it was handled this way not only did I leave the 2 small shrimp that he offered me to make up for being 1 short but I will not be back if that's how things are done. I'm not sure why things are so different than when it was Bob's victory grill but I see it changing names again soon if this is how it is run. Just my opinion but if you are in the area go somewhere else for...
Read moreIn late 2022, my husband and I went into Baumhowers Victory Grill of Auburn with our grandson who was 10 at the time ....Our waiter was Brandon... Service was absolutely perfect... He made sure our order was made just as we ordered and suggested my grandson get the Gooey burger... Well, remembering the wonderful service we had about a year or so ago, we decided to request Brandon as our waiter on 11/12/2023 Saturday... My grandson had already said, "Grammy, it would be great if we could have that same waiter"... Brandon did not disappoint... I had no idea he would remember my grandson, but he absolutely did... He recalled how he thought there was no way my grandson would eat that whole burger... He greeted us with his super personality and always had a smile... He got our drink orders, cracked a few funnies here and there, and kept us laughing... He got our drinks, then took our order... He made sure our order got to us as we wanted it and everything was on point... All the while, still having that vibrant, outgoing personality that we love in a server / waiter... One thing we loved was that he was super attentive and would make sure to look our way when coming through to other tables... He even came to our table and told my grandson, "NO WAY YOU ALREADY ATE ALL THAT"... He made my grandson laugh and his face lit up everytime Brandon came around... When we started to leave, my grandson held his fist out to give Brandon a fist bump... He grabbed my grandson and said, "No, Baby, bring it in" and gave him a big ol' hug... It was the sweetest thing I had ever seen... He started to walk away, but I stopped him and told him I had to get a picture of him with our grandson, Ashton... He told Ashton to be sure to come back and see him soon... Brandon mentioned that he is 24... His girlfriend was the one that told him he would make a great server and she was so right... What a wonderful, upstanding young man he is!!! And judging by the post I made in a group on FB, he is loved by many customers that come into...
Read moreUpdated review 2/15/25: The food was MUCH better than the last time dining here in 2023. Portion sizes were good, flavors were good and not salt bombs (like out last visit), and great wait staff that took care of everyone who hung around at their tables for the Auburn vs Alabama basket ball game (War Eagle for the Win!)
Original review from 2023: We finally were able to try this restaurant when visiting my son as there wasn't much of a wait due to Auburn having a bye. We've tried dining at this restaurant before but didn't want to wait 60+ minutes, so we were happy to get in with only a 10 minute wait for a table this time. The menu looked fantastic with great pictures and lots of options... but looks were very deceiving for the entrees. We really enjoyed our appetizers, but the dinners were pure salt bombs that were hard to eat, and the food did not appear like the menu pictures (and the server agreed and brought out more shrimp for the sauce on the Geaux Fish). My son's wings were pretty flavorless except for salt. If it wasn't for the fried mozzarella and fried pickle appetizers which were very good, I would have been forced to give this restaurant two stars for the entrees as they weren't very memorable or frankly enjoyable. Perhaps it was an off night, or perhaps we ordered the wrong entrees, considering the great reviews this restaurant has from others. We will likely give this restaurant another try in the future, but we definitely will not order those...
