Coffee Mug — Restaurant in Auburn

On Monday morning, August 29th 2022, my granddaughter and I were looking for a place to have breakfast near the Auburn Mall before doing some school shopping. We Googled local breakfast places and this place had 4 1/2 stars, so we decided to give it a try. That was a mistake. We went inside and were told to sit wherever we liked. That was fine and the waitress quickly came over and gave us the menus and asked if we wanted coffee. We weren't very hungry so we each just ordered a toasted pumpkin muffin and an orange juice. We were kind of disappointed with the muffins as we were expecting the round muffins, the kind that looks like an oversized cupcake but instead we got these small rectangle shaped muffins. They were good but we just expected something a little bigger. We took our time eating the muffins as we were waiting on our orange juices. Needless to say, we finished eating the muffins and were waiting for our waitress to bring us the bill when she finally brought us the orange juices, which at this time we refused as we were done eating. Would have been nice to have them with our meal. She did deduct them off our bill but we could hear her complaining to others about us not wanting the juices. Needless to say it wasn't the best experience for the first trying this place an we probably won't...

This is the second time I came in here in the last few months.. Both times the waitress added up the "old school" bill up the addition was wrong. Handwritten ", we have all seen these before the its the basic hand written bill. A bunch of scribble.. The bill seemed extremely high so I added it up and it was off by $8.. I informed the waitress and she had an attitude saying she didn't make a mistake.. Her life was a mistake with that attitude. Even that she was proven wrong she didn't apologize.. Neither did the waitress the first time it happen. Place was dead so no excuse to make a mistake.. She took a shot and got caught..Leading me to believe this is typical for a place that says " Cash only". It wasn't the money it was the principle and attitude. I still left a 30% tip so she would have enough for a pack of cigarettes after her tough 5 hr shift.

I always write great reviews so you know this bothered me in these trying times when food costs are ridiculous.. Do better. Work Harder.. You are too old to be a scammer!

No credit cards usually means the place is on borrowed time.. Who carries cash ???

Beware of the miserable old waitress maybe she isn't too bright but Im guessing she is bright in the wrong way..But I am brighter...

I had a whole half hour to myself late this morning so the Coffee Mug had been recommended to me so I thought great a cup tea a muffin and some quiet reading make me feel better. I sit at the counter and there was a small girl sitting near me she was helping out rolling silverware with her Mom. They looked exactly alike. Anyway no one greeted me , no one asked if I’d like a drink , no one said I’ll be with you in a minute. Lots of staff so not that hard. Place wasn’t packed . As a former long time waitress I get it when lots busy but a smile and I’ll be tight with you would have been appreciated. I waited 5 minutes and no greeting from anyone so I got up and left. The waitrsss that was sitting next to me ran after me and asked if I got what I needed? Of course i didn’t and now I’m upset and still hungry and they ruined my half hour to myself which I rarely have. Can’t comment on the food or service as I did not get either. I will go to my usual place Citiline in Worcester always hood good and great service the Coffee Mug doesn’t need my business apparently. Thank you back to my...
