My husband made up some lame excuse to get me to Kay’s tonight. Marie our wonderful associate was so gracious and extended us with the outmost patience while helping us get our pieces taken care of. In the middle of all this, my husband kept interrupting her and asking for prices of the sparkliest diamonds in the case. Even as she was busy trying to process our pieces, she showed exemplary patience and answered his inquiries and gave him the pieces he was asking for for me to try on. Marie advocated for us to get the extended warranty for our pieces that weren’t bought from Kay’s for future mishaps. I appreciated that she had our best interests at heart seeing that my husband wore his jewelry daily and having the warty would be a piece of mind for us in the long run. Before Marie was done with the jewelry repair that we came if for, my husband surprised me with a 5.5 ct emerald cut stunner! It was exquisite! I couldn’t believe it! I literally was crying in the store! Because of my husband purchasing the exquisite ring, the store manager helped and finished off cleaning and giving my Leo earrings the backer I was missing and also cleaning my Tolkowsky and updating it’s diamond inspection. Kay Jewelers #1228 has always shown my husband and I the outmost professionalism, care and kindness every time we visit this store. I brought it back just three days past the return policy window and was told I could not return it. Instead, I was offered a repair — but only for an additional charge since I didn’t purchase the extended warranty. For a $500 bracelet, this is absolutely unacceptable. The quality clearly doesn’t hold up, and the company refuses to stand behind their product.
The only alternative they offered was to drive over an hour back to the Kay Jewelers Outlet where it was originally purchased, which we visited during a special occasion. This level of inconvenience and lack of accountability is incredibly disappointing.
