Visited for afternoon tea. While the scones and tea sandwiches were really quite good, I was equally disappointed by other aspects of the experience. First, the clear plastic table coverings over the table linens were just plain tacky. Part of the tea experience is the finery of the linens and tea service. A dirt-smeared plastic sheet ruined this for me. Goodness knows, laundering table linens after tea isn't the housekeeping task it once was. It's a shame they don't find the value in providing a true afternoon tea experience. I was also surprised to see that tea bags were used instead of loose-leaf tea...but at least the bags were Harney and Sons. Overall, the food was quite good, but any pleasant part of the experience. was overshadowed by that thick, sticky, plastic cloth. Had the table been set over a simple cloth, I would be more...

Do not buy a box of tea from them.

My friend and I had a great time, service was great, loved the atmosphere. We enjoyed our tea so much that we wanted to buy boxes of it to take home, and we were thrilled they offered it for sale. I grabbed a box and purchased it without checking the price tag. It was $16. Okay, that's fine, I'm out for a special date with a friend and this is a treat. But upon getting home I find that I could have purchased the same tea on Amazon, in a quantity of 30 bags larger, for less than half the price!!! I'm all for supporting local, but the upcharge on that box of tea is OUTRAGEOUS. I feel absolutely ripped off and hoodwinked, and my nice morning now...

Very disappointed. The place was lovely, but the chairs were child-size and hurt to sit in. Service was terrible. They were unwelcoming and rude from the second we came in and said we had a reservation. It took 15 minutes for our order to be taken, and then another 50 for the food to arrive. The waitress didn’t check on us once. I’m pretty sure she forgot about us because it wasn’t until we browsed the gift shop to stretch our legs (awful chairs) that she rudely shouted at us that our food was on the table now.
