When it comes to getting pizza in Auburn I would say that Pizza Forum owns this town. Have I had better pizza? Yeah. A short trip down to Fort Wayne will scratch the itch immeasurably better. I won't name names of competitors on a review but I will say a place that can't be beat when it comes to taste, atmosphere, feeling like a member of the family, and prices that seem like you're robbing them blind...it rhymes with Ombondos and you really ought to give them a try at least once so you to can become an addict. Enough about other places though into the review.
Pizza Forum has a great location in the heart of downtown Auburn right next to the courthouse. The building looks like old brick and tin ceiling, but the brick is faux. But the place screams old town pizzeria. The wood floors and pizza oven visible from the dining area really tie it all together.
The service when I was there was a one man band. He ran the oven, served drinks, cleared tables, cashed out customers, and handled carry out orders. Place your order at the counter, pay the man, grab your drink, find a seat, and share the stories with friends waiting for the food to arrive.
The food was good. Again for Auburn you'll be hard pressed to get anything better. The sauce is very traditional but slightly sweet. The meat toppings had good flavor. The crust had an excellent texture but while the flavor was good it just didn't seem to mesh well enough with the toppings and sauce for my taste. The amount of toppings was generous. The amount of cheese wasn't overpowering. The bread sticks were good and served in a small lake of garlic butter, but the flavor of the garlic butter was a little weak.
Overall the place gets my approval. I can't recommend a better place in the surrounding...
Read moreThis evening my husband took our daughter and her friend to Pizza Forum for dinner, it was a win because we had coupons to use on Pizza & Bread sticks. It was her friends very first visit. Her words were, “wow this is the nicest restaurant I’ve ever been to.” It was our 2nd visit, actually was better than the first visit.
We ended up ordering the girls a cheese pizza and a pepperoni pizza plus an order of bread sticks. The girls ate a couple bread sticks and 4 slices of pizza each. They loved the pizza. The bread sticks were loaded in butter and garlic sauce. My husband and I ordered an XL pepperoni and mushroom pizza. It was so delicious. Yes, we have plenty of leftovers for tomorrow’s lunch or dinner. Cold pizza is the best ever.
The restaurant was nice and clean. Bathrooms were also clean, that’s a plus in my book. Nasty bathrooms make for a bad experience. Our server was great, altho it took her a bit to refill my drink, all is good she got to it. Over all we had a pleasant experience this evening. They played Christmas Music in the background. That was nice for the Holiday. Very enjoyable to listen to. We will definitely be back to...
Read morePizza Forum is our absolutely favorite pizza place. We love their Hawaiian pizza & their Forum. Their crust is amazing & the perfect thickness. They don't skimp on the ingredients either. We hate when a pizza from another restaurant comes out & the ingredients aren't evenly spaced! We feel like we have to remake the pizza at our table. The Forum evenly spaces the ingredients, making the pizza a more enjoyable eating experience. We don't feel like their sauce is bland or too spicy. The breadsticks are another favorite of ours. The garlic butter sauce is worth it. I like to dip my pizza into the extra sauce at the bottom of the bread basket. The service is also great! We've never felt ignored or slighted. Currently you order & pay ahead at the counter, but for us, that's convenient. We like getting everything out of the way ahead of time so we can just enjoy our family time & meal Best pizza...
