Gipper's Sports Grill — Restaurant in Auburn

Everything was so Bland and flavorless and unseasoned and unsalted! Even the French fries were unsalted?! the baked potato was rock hard and inedible. The steak tips, there was only 5 tips??!, cost me $20 for 5 tips and were over cooked. The chicken fingers were terrible, literally tasted like unseasoned chicken was dipped into unseasoned flour then fried. They were not flattened and the chicken in the middle was undercooked. When I walked into 5he restaurant I was told by the waitress to go to a certain side of the bar, then she proceeded to go over and chat with the bartender opposite me for over 5 minutes while I stood there waiting. It wasn't busy and the bartender wasn't doing anything but talking to her. They were talking and laughing not doing any work, my food was sitting there getting cold and the waitress knew I was there! On top of everything else I did not receive a receipt with any items on it just an amount and that amount was way more than what the three things I got should have cost. I didn't realize this till I left the restaurant and looked again online at the menu and prices.... so to summarize I was overcharged and had to wait forever while they finished a personal conversation while not doing any work, and the food was awful!! the food is still sitting on my counter right now nobody has eaten it. I want my money back cuz I didn't even eat the damn food. Tried calling today and...

Today was supposed to be a meaningful day for my family as we gathered to celebrate my grandmother's life with a luncheon at Gippers, one of her favorite restaurants. Days ago, family members visited the restaurant to ensure we could reserve a spot. They asked us to call ahead on the day of the luncheon with an estimated headcount, which we did.

Imagine our shock and sadness when we arrived only to be turned away. The staff claimed they were too busy to accommodate us and told us we would have to wait to see if they could make room. This was after we followed their instructions to secure a space for such an important occasion.

What made this experience even more disheartening was the utter lack of compassion from the owner and staff. Despite our long-standing patronage and the nature of our gathering, they ignored us and made no effort to honor the arrangements we had made.

Gippers was once a cherished spot for our family, but after today’s experience, I cannot see myself ever returning. The disregard for their customers, especially in such a personal and emotional situation, is beyond disappointing. I will make sure my friends and family know about this experience and warn them about the lack of care and commitment shown here.

Fun atmosphere. Great staff. Attentive, comfortable. Nice bar space and plenty of tvs for the sports fans.

Food on this first time there was not great overall.

The Good.

The portion sizes were very generous. The prices were also very reasonable.

Chicken wings well done were great. Crispy hot and delicious.

Ceasar salad looked good.

The steak was enjoyed by another at my table. They really liked it.

The burger looked good.

I had the hadock sandwich which was likewarm and not crispy. The fries were oily soggy limp cold.

My son, 14, got chicken tender dinner. I didn't try it. He usually devours it but stated it was chewy and grisly. He couldn't eat it.That being said, I know some people dont mind the tendon that runs down the tenderloin. Personally. I prefer not to chew on that. They did look like very fresh strips though and they give you a ton. I noticed a bunch of people ordered them so it must be a favorite.

Another person got a burger. They liked it. It did look fine.

I might go back and try other things. Probably a great place to have some beers and watch sports on another occasion. I hear the nachos are good.
