My recent dining experience at the Candiles Mexican Restaurant in Augusta was nothing short of amazing! From the moment I stepped through the door, I was transported to a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere that perfectly complemented the delicious flavors of Mexico.
First and foremost, the food was an absolute delight. As a connoisseur of Mexican cuisine, I can confidently say that this restaurant goes above and beyond in delivering authentic and mouthwatering dishes. The menu offered a wide variety of options, from classic favorites like tacos and enchiladas to unique specialties that I hadn't encountered before. Each dish was bursting with genuine Mexican flavors and made with the freshest ingredients. The attention to detail in every bite was truly commendable.
What truly elevated the experience was our exceptional waiter, Manuel. His passion for the cuisine and dedication to providing top-notch service were evident throughout the entire meal. He was not only knowledgeable about the menu but also took the time to tell us a little about himself and where he loves to visit when he's back in Mexico, ultimately making the dining experience both educational and enjoyable. Manuel's warm and attentive demeanor made us feel like valued guests, and his recommendations were spot-on. What got me the most is when I asked for "club soda" because that's the closest thing to Topo Chica I can usually find in restaurants. He said they didn't have "club soda" or "Topo Chico", but did manager to find mineral water!! With a side of lime, I was in heaven!!
Although the restaurant is located in Augusta, the drive was absolutely worth it. I can confidently say that I've found a hidden gem that I will gladly travel the distance for, time and time again. The combination of authentic flavors, impeccable service from Manuel, and the vibrant ambiance make this restaurant a standout in the culinary scene.
In conclusion, if you're seeking an authentic Mexican culinary journey that's worth every mile, I wholeheartedly recommend the Candiles Mexican Restaurant in Augusta. Prepare to be treated to a memorable and delightful experience that will leave you craving more. And if you're lucky enough to have Manuel as your waiter, you're in for a truly...
Read moreTook my Son to lunch here on 10/17/24. Had never been but the reviews looked very favorable, so I decided we should try it. I hadn't even been seated for a minute before I had a basket of fresh, warm chips in front of me. This was presented with a bottle of yummy salsa (mild to medium heat and not too forward on any note) with two little bowls (nice touch since I like to double dip). My son opted for the 5 Street Taco lunch and I got the lunch Taco Salad. I decided to order the Choriqueso to share since I love the stuff. I was NOT disappointed, and I simply couldn't stop eating the stuff! I even added some to my Taco salad! Needless to say, we were both stuffed and he had enough leftovers to feed his family this evening (our tab before tip was $38, so the generous portions make for a great bargain). We never waited more than a few minutes for anything (it appears as though everyone in the restaurant helps with everything). Flavors were on point, and our waiter even brought my son a container of the sauce they serve with the street tacos (different than the regular salsa). The parking lot was packed when we left so the locals must know what is good in Augusta. How great is it to get quality food, great service and be able to make it back to work on time? The place was a little difficult for me to spot at first (it is tucked in a little plaza next to the Dollar Tree), but it's well worth seeking out! My new favorite...
Read moreOur first time here! We got the Full experience * we were told by a good friend many times… to just stop into Candiles and try their Street Tacos - they are So Yummy!! Ok so we finally made it in :)
When we arrived… people were coming in from all different directions into the restaurant from the parking lot … felt like we were late for a funeral! lol
We told the host 2 for dinner - we were then directed through a half empty large room of happy people ( soon to be full) into another room and we went to sit - felt like we collapsed into the well worn booths - after overlooking the extremely long menu - we decided on Shrimp Quesadillas and the 3 enchiladas meal can’t pronounce it…. Ordered a 22oz margarita and an iPA on tap!
We went to wash our hands. Found only one unisex restroom for this large place… but that’s ok! We got back to the table with Hot chips, great salsa, and ice cold drinks!
The waiters were pretty serious we noticed and it took a lot to make ours smile but we have to say… this little hole in the wall in Augusta, Kansas Serves up outstanding cuisine, hot and seasoned perfectly! We can’t wait to come back, maybe with a booster seat! lol
I give Candiles a 6 star out of 5 and I hope they stay successful - best Mexican food in 100...
