I wanted Hibachi chicken and rice today, so I was on a mission to get just that!!! I didn't want to go to the mall and get it from there because I knew the mall would be crowded and the line for Sakru would be wrapped around the corner of the business. I remember a friend of mine saying that this place had really good food, so I decided to check this place out. I was pretty impressed with the food and service. This business isn't anything to look at on the outside or even the inside, but the employees and the food makes up for all of that. I ordered the Hibachi chicken meal. It came with Hibachi chicken, fried rice, and mixed vegetables(broccoli, zucchini, and onions). I asked for them to make the chicken spicy, but it wasn't spicy at all. I also ordered an egg roll. I got everything to go because I was in a rush today, I normally like to dine in at restaurants I patronize. The food was pretty good!! Even though the chicken wasn't spicy, it was well seasoned and very juicy. The vegetable weren't over cooked and soggy. They still had a nice crunch to them. The egg roll was pretty good as well. The employee who took my order was very pleasant, she greeted me and thanked me for coming in so warmly. Dining here today was definitely a hit, I will be back to try more...
Read moreFrom the outside, Domo Japanese Grill looks pretty unassuming, with a sign that straight-up tells you it’s a “no frills” spot. Walking in, the place smelled amazing—but it was completely empty. For a second, we wondered if we’d made a mistake. Spoiler: we didn’t.
We loved our food. We ordered a noodle dish, steak hibachi, and chicken, and everything was fresh, flavorful, and served in generous portions. It had that real, homemade quality that some bigger hibachi places lack, and the prices were way better too. Honestly, this place is a hidden gem. If you see it, don’t hesitate—don’t sleep on the no frills. I’d come back here a...
Read moreI'll start with the positives. The staff was friendly, the dining room and restrooms were clean, the miso soup was good as was the ginger sauce. But the Hibachi was very bland....no flavor whatsoever. My husbands salmon was over cooked, my shrimp were not properly cleaned (the black poop strip was visible and hanging, I had to remove them by hand) and under cooked. We had to cover our food in soy sauce and ginger sauce just to give it some flavor. We were just passing through Augusta on our way to Atlanta and let's just say...we won't be back. We chose this spot because of it's near 5 star rating. We...
