Went for the first time and was glad to see that it was busy. The restaurant was clean and structurally sound, but lacked any form of landscaping... I actually made the joke that I hoped the landscaping wasn't an indication of quality...
Well... The orange juice tasted like watery concentrate, the cottage cheese like milk that hadn't gone bad just yet, the biscuits and gravy lacked sausage and tasted like wet flour - literally, broccoli soup was okay and the BLT was okay. The eggs also tasted off for those of us that had them. All around the quality was lacking, but at least we'll priced...
Eggs Benedict, coffee, and bacon were all great! Oh and the rolls they put out were very good.
The staff were delightful! Our waitress seemed to be the only one when we got there and as stated they were busy, which was frustrating, but I don't blame her. We all know staff shortages are abundant and she was doing better than the best she could. We were delighted to have her, and she did an awesome job.
I/we did not complain about the food, mostly due to the exorbitant amount of time we had already been there, blatantly disregarding the restaurant's slogan "if you like it tell others, if you don't, tell us." So we do not know the recourse they may...
Read moreI recently learned of this restaurant from a group on Facebook, who rave about Nikarry's. I stopped by for my usual 1st time breakfast at a new spot... biscuits and gravy.
I was disappointed to find a 1/3rd of the gravy cold. They obviously microwave the orders. Perhaps they don't sell enough gravy on Mondays to warrant having it on the steam table?
It's not a game changer and I'll likely give them another visit to redeem themselves. The sunnyside eggs were cooked to perfection and my server was sweet. She said she would have gladly brought me a new order. I didn't find the cooler gravy until my final bites and was already filled up. There's no shortage of gravy on the dish, I just prefer it piping hot.
The interior is a bit warn and I wonder if it has been renovated since it opened in 1991? This was formerly a Big Boy restaurant too.
Update: I made it back in. I just can't get past the musty smell, which I'm guessing is from the worn out carpet. I won't...
Read moreFood was very bad. I had a chicken ranch wrap and i was suprised that the chicken inside was deep fried for some reason, the cheese around the wrap was cold, and the ranch sauce was almost water. I did love their chicken soup and tried the seafood chowder (sounds kinda scary) that was not too bad. But the absolute worst part was the bathroom situation. If they filmed a horror scene in there they would have to clean it up before. Everything was cracked and or broken. Toilets were covered in what looked like pee-soaked toilet paper and the even something simple as the stall doors were rigged with a second lock that you had to pull the door down with your weight to lock. Needless to say once i looked in their i said i would hold it until i got home. This place could shine bright once again but it needs some...
