The Cafe Toscano is pleasant enough, but maybe could use a little change of their floor plan/layout, especially with additional seating for two for that romantic date experience. However, the tables are nicely set with white tablecloths and napkins. We were greeted by friendly staff and felt welcomed, which seems to be a rarity in this COVID era. Our server was friendly and efficient. We never felt rushed, even after they closed. The food was upscaled home-made Italian, and the $$ price tag is reflective of it. Your entree does not come with a side salad though, which I feel it should for the price. However, you do get a fair-sized portion. You are almost immediately served a basket of freshly baked herb and cheese crusted, pull-apart dinner rolls with a herb and cheese seasoned dipping olive oil. Lovely! We ordered the roasted goat cheese and eggplant appetizer...and it looked as good as it tasted...it is a half eggplant, stuffed with goat cheese, sliced vertically, restacked, and set upon a well seasoned marinara. Very fresh and delectable. My only suggestion is to serve some toast tips on the side...this would put it over the top as a shareable app for 2 or more! My friend ordered the gnocchi with sausage...yum, yum! The creamy sauce had just the right amount of "kick". I ordered the 3-cheese stuffed ravioli. It was tasty enough, but could have benefited with a little more cheese; however, the pasta was freshly handmade and perfectly cooked, the sauce was delicious and not over sauced, and the portion was generous as well. We ordered a limoncello cake and a Tiramisu for dessert. The desserts were worth the boxing up half our entrees so to have room, and did not disappoint. Limoncello cake had the perfect amount of lightly whipped marscapone, and with the appropriate amount of sweetness. It was tender and delicious...I would order it again! Tiramisu is one of my favorite desserts, but I am picky and prefer the more traditional version . Cafe Toscano served me one of the best I've had in some time. The tiramisu's sponge cake was moist, tender and soaked with the appropriate amount of espresso. It had a lightly sweetened marscapone, and was lightly dusted with unsweetened cocoa powder...yummy! Definitely would order it again! Overall, we were happy with the food, the wine was good, and we would return to Cafe Toscano. I didn't notice a kid's menu though. At their price point, I am unsure this is the place to take your younger children, but it is a great place...
Read moreI love this restaurant. The first time I was there, I had the lobster ravioli. It comes in a vodka cream sauce with shrimp and scallops. The lobster was so fresh and sweet it just melts in your mouth. The shrimp were the best I've ever had. I ended up taking some of them home and they were still tender the next day after being microwaved! My boyfriend had the chicken marsala and I think we both could have literally licked the plate clean had there been less people around. The portions were a good size too. You definitely get your money's worth.
I also found them very accommodating even to odd requests. I am doing a craft with corks and I asked my server for any corks that might be lying around. They brought me a big bag full. They always save the corks to be recycled or given away at the end of the week.
The service was very friendly and the atmosphere was perfect. They were always nearby when I needed a refill, our food came out quickly, and the servers were able to give good descriptions of the food. I often rely on their suggestions of what's best. As far as atmosphere, this is the perfect place for any date or even just a night out. Most guests seem to prefer business casual attire or semi casual. I went in a nice dress my first time and found myself over dressed. Jeans and a nice shirt would be most appropriate.
And remember: DON'T SKIP DESSERT! Their cannolis are my favorite but everything is delicious. Tiramisu, and nutella gelato are also among...
Read moreUpdate: Had dinner on a Sunday night. Delightful food as always with great service. Started with a Venetian Sunset and Lemon Lavender Gin Spritz. Had the usual TASTY garlic knots. The fabulous crab cakes were the starter, he has the delicious osso bucco and I had the pollo toscano "old school" with the lemon Chablis sauce and pollo served on the pasta. Excellent dinner.
Update: had dinner here with my husband on a busy Saturday night. Service was great and the atmosphere was lively. We started with crab cakes (fabulous) and he enjoyed the osso buco (very tender) and I had the pollo toscano (THAT sauce!). Loved dinner. The garlic rolls are delightful.
Please note that reservations are highly recommended.
Great place. Amazing Italian food, good service, friendly employees, and nice atmosphere. Been here several times and never disappointed with the food. Also, they serve amazing garlic bread balls before dinner. Yum! A huge wine selection of varying price points and a nice bar to sit at if you don't want a table.
Last time my husband and I had the arancini, osso bucco, and cheese ravioli. Everything was very good, served hot, and there was plenty of osso bucco to take home. We look forward to going back!
This time I had the Pollo Toscano and he had the osso bucco. Both...
