I want to like this place because it's convenient and has a big menu. We've been there twice and same results. C - rated food and service. Last night I ordered the roasted figs with feta cheese and honey. I would not serve what we were given. It was disgusting. The figs were burned black and the skin fell off in ashes. They took the salty water from the feta cheese and put honey in it. The resulting watery feta and honey was so salty nobody would eat it. I asked specifically if the marinated chicken in the Greek salad is salty or if I should order the grilled chicken and she said no they were the same. I went with the marinated chicken and it was frankly, inedible. The chicken was so salty I couldn't eat it and so was the greek dressing. I brought it home thinking maybe I'd eat it for lunch. Seriously I can't eat it, it's like a mouthful of salt and I love Greek food. My salad also had small dolmades in the dish and the cabbage leaves tasted spoiled. Maybe there's a menu item here I will like but when I ask the wait staff for their opinion and they rave about how everybody likes it, what shall I think when that's not my experience? Last time we had burgers and they were ok but I wouldn't go out of my way for it. I'm giving them 3 stars to be kind to a locally owned establishment but I blame the server for not being honest about their food. And she's a long...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been a customer of Papous for years but unfortunately after the experience we had this evening, will not be back. My son was served raw meatballs⦠twice. The first time I figured it was just a miscommunication of some sort. They were so raw they squished when I cut them and were only room temp in the middle. I thought someone mustāve accidentally plated raw meat vs cooked meat, they somehow missed the ācookingā step, etc. The second time, they were slightly cooked; however still red and barely warm on the inside. Photos are of the second order which surprisingly looked a bit better than the first. They were taken off our bill and my son ate noodles. Heās 4 and even he could tell they werenāt edible. Both times I was told that they were just red from being cooked in red sauce. Not sure when/where they couldāve possibly been cooked when they were very obviously raw, room temperature balls of meat, but Iāll take my loss and simply not return. Only posting so anyone else with kids who like meatballs knows to double check their plates. Photos speak...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been to Papous a few times before this last visit and the food I knew was always sub-par, but after not visiting for a few weeks my experience tonight was grossly disappointing even if I wasnāt expecting much to begin with. First off my family and I walked into the restaurant to a young girl, probably in high school, messing around with her friend before even asking us how many we had and if we would like the bar or table. After we were seated we were presented with dirty plates to split our appetizers on, sending those back we had $16 mozzarella sticks which were underwhelming and waited 30 minutes for our food. My burger was very salty and anything with cheese on it just wasnāt very good. After telling our grievances to our waitress, an older woman who vanished for another 30 minutes after we had finished eating she shrugged, took our card and then sent us on our way. Needless to say this was a dissapointing experience and I will refuse to go back and pay an arm and a leg for terrible food and...
