Firstly I'm not in the habit of complaining but I sincerely feel this need to be brought to someone's attention. I had the misfortune to be ripped off once again by the Illiff Location on 09/03/2021. We simply requested a take out order of two Italian Nachos which we requested to be cooked well done and a side of waffle fries.
We phoned our order through at 18:20 and was advised it would be ready within 20/25 Minutes So we headed to our car to take the 20 Minute Journey to our closest Old Chicago Located in Illiff.
After waiting for what seemed forever and staff checking on where my order was we finally received our order at 19:15.
I suspect my order was forgotten once again as this has happened many time's before in my experience, but have mostly put it down to a big influx of patrons eating in and staff being overwhelmed.
Arriving home my wife and I planned to obviously eat after a hard day's work which is why we opted not to cook and to treat ourselves as we were both exhausted.
The Nachos were indeed well done as requested..But only on the top. They looked like they were a rush job and were only browned on the top as if for only presentation purposes. As I inspected closer the Nachos underneath were undercooked, doughy and raw. As for the waffle fries they were anemic in color and I could tell they were also only part cooked. They were crunchy not crispy due to the rawness of the potato.I also only received 4 whole waffles which embarrassingly equates to $1 a waffle.(An absolute joke) The whole meal was only fit for the trash which is ultimately where it ended up at our expense.
To sum up our personal experience at the Illiff Location:
We used 20 minutes of gas to Give this the closest Location our money. We waited almost a hour to receive our order when we was told it would be 25 Minutes(This is the reason I believe my order was overlooked) We traveled the 20 Minutes back to our house using more gas. And paid $30 for the privilege to put the whole order in the trash can. Not even one of our three dog's wanted to sample any of the food we had paid for.
Because of the above errors our Dinning experience at Old Chicago has now cost $60+ as we had no other option to further buy fast food plus gas once again.
This is not the first time this has happened but decided to give this Location multiple chances due to it's close Location to us and the fact that the pandemic has made staff's jobs in retail and customer service that more difficult. Sadly it is now clear that Covid-19 is not the cause of blame but the Illiff Location itself.
We will be seeking a full refund and if that is not possible will be escalating our complaint I...
Read moreI ordered a meal for the whole family on Uber Eats for delivery that was right at $100. When it arrived at the house of the 3 meals and 2 appetizers one meal was missing. I immediately called the store and let them know, and at the same time let them know I would be coming to get it. I just had shoulder surgery a few days ago which is why we had it delivered as I am in pain and on pain meds etc. Upon arrival I asked for a manager to let him know he had to do a bit better job of expiditing. He was a shorter guy with a beard and mustache and long hair in a pony tail. He immediately told me it's not his problem. To which I asked again if he was the manager and he said yes as he is walking away with a entryway full of people saying that's not my problem and not my job. As he is walking across the restaurant he is yelling to another employee waiving his hands to get my food and get me the hell out of HIS store! The majority of the restaurant was now watching. I'm standing in the entry in a sling with a broke shoulder on pain meds in my pajamas because I should of never been there in the first place if he did his job embarassed and now annoyed. He disappeared into the kitchen approx 40ft away and I can still hear him yelling get him out of MY store! He sent someone else with the food and at that time I asked for his name from that employee as he was handing me the food that was missing. You could tell the younger kid was embarrassed and apologized to me as he said what I believe was "his name is Josh" again it was very busy so I'm not sure. At the same time the manager walked back up to the counter and I asked him his name directly and he said "" Frank"". I own a business in Aurora and am also a manager. I let him know that in fact as acting manager that this falls under his umbrella, and indeed expediting falls under his umbrella. I let him know I was a manager as well at this point. He said ya right as I'm standing in my pajamas with everyone waiting to be seated looking at... And he says ya right. You might want to let Josh or Frank or whatever his name is at any given time that everything falls under him at the time he is acting like a manager. If there was a fire when the Fire Captain shows up, he will ask for the manager. If the lights go out in the bathroom it's his job to fix it for safety immediately. He is over everything! My arm throbbing I got back into the car and vowed to never return again. Sincerely Vic aka: Business...
Read moreI understand that NYE can be crazy for restaurants. However, this was complete insanity. I placed my order and received confirmation at 5:38pm. I was given s25 minute time frame, but knowing Old Chicago, I expected 45-50 minutes, as they are not ever on time worth to-go orders, even before the pandemic. At 6:50pm, I rang the restaurant and was informed by the hostess, my order was second on the list and it should be packaged within 15 minutes; mind you, it has already been 70 minutes...what is 15 more minutes. While waiting at the restaurant, my husband, experienced more chaos. The hostess came out and took everyone's name, but never came back with updates. The manager was less than professional nor friendly. He would be approached by other costumers and either completely ignore them, or walk away. Never did he come out to give insight or explanation as to the wait times or any efforts he was trying to make to accommodate the matter. At home, my two children, were waiting for a new year's eve pizza party.. but they never got it. I proceeded to call back the restaurant, at 8:10pm, but no one answered. Meanwhile, back at the restaurant, my husband finally asked and was told it was being packed up. We ordered 1 pizza, 1 jalapeno bites, and 1 mac and cheese. This was at 8:20pm....18 minutes shy of 3 HOURS. Fifteen minutes later, the pizza and Mac and cheese came out. THESE ITEMS WERE COMPLETELY COLD!! He was told that the appetizer got pushed back and if he wanted to wait, it would be another 10 minutes. He left the restaurant, with COLD food, missing items, all after 3 hours and seven minutes after receiving confirmation of order receipt. He nor I have been provided an apology, a discount nor an offer to fix the situation. I called to speak with the manager on duty. He got on the phone, without introduction, little patience and no professional demeanor. He proceeded to take my name and number and said he would call after the rush tonight, or maybe he will call in the morning. I will not...
