Ozzie's Diner — Restaurant in Aurora

My dad wanted to go here cause when I come up from Kentucky I always want to take him out for breakfast so we can have good food, good service and time to visit with each other. We had an excellent waitress who knows my dad her name was Gina. She gave impeccable service and didn't mind us taking up her table for hours on end. I tipped her a $20 she was so good. She gave great suggestions cause everything looked good came down to 3 types of different pancakes the tiramisu pancakes, the leche pancakes or the stuffed strawberry pancakes. I love my pancakes but so many great choices so I asked her opinion and she said the leche but changed her mind and definitely said stuffed strawberry was her final suggestion. Then asked if I wanted the breakfast with bacon, sausage and eggs I knew it saying " stuffed" pancakes would be enough for me. Quite honestly I couldn't even finish half of them they give very generous portions of food here. I've never had such fluffy pancakes anywhere before here either; Very tasty!!! Highly recommend this resteraunt and will be back with my dad when I come back to visit. Have to try their egg bennies next time!!! Love the name too even have a Kentucky Bennie. Hey thats where I live now might have to ask Ginas opinion on which is the best all the different Egg Bennies they have. If you order food here you most likely walk away with a doggybag going home which I always appreciate cause I hate to cook. Many options in their menu. And nice people who work here. Food is great but service was terrible, i ordered 3 fajita skillets i was very clear when i asked for 3 skillets never did i mention the word "share" And a plate of eggs and bacon from the kids menu we arrived at the restaurant a little before 10 and noticed the diner wasnt even full we waited almost 40 minutes for our food and when the server brought out only 1 skillet and my kids food she proceeded to ask if we wanted 3 plates and we said for what and her exact words were "i thought i heard you say share a skillet" at this point we were waiting for almost 40 minutes for 3 skillets and a kids plate , they only brought out 1 skillet and what was more upsetting is the fact that in that 40 minute wait the server only came 1 time to check on us and not once did she came and apologized for the wait or if i needed a refill during the wait so we get up and decide to leave . Once we get to the register the owner comes up to me asking what was wrong, after i explained to him that his waitress meesed up our order he said "ill have the 2 skillets out ready for you in 2 minutes" i said no thankyou i just wana pay for my coffe and orange juice i dont want anything anymore . It makes no sense that we waited more than 30 minutes for just 1 skillet to be brought out and now hes saying he will make 2 in 2 minutes. We had a party of six who enjoyed a delicious late breakfast and brunch on a Saturday morning around 11:00am. We were greeted and seated immediately. We ordered a variety of food and we enjoyed everything we ordered. The meat lover's skillet was flavorful and full of cheese, sausage, bacon, ham, and hashbrowns on the bottom. The Eggs Benedict (called the Bennie) was delicious. The hollandaise sauce was rich and yummy. Everything was delicious and our orders were correct. My biscuits and gravy came out luke warm and I asked if they could please heat them up (I like my food hot). They made me a new plate of piping hot biscuits and gravy with a small bowl of fresh fruit for my wait. They went above and beyond to make me happy and I appreciated that very much! The restaurant is cute, well-lit, and clean! The waiters and waitresses were very friendly and attentive. One thing you must try at this restaurant is the cinnamon bread roll with butter. Oh my goodness it is SO delicious! I believe you can take home a loaf of this deliciousness for $10 and I am regretting not doing that! You will not be disappointed when you eat at Ozzie's. This was my first time eating here (we were visiting friends) but I know we will be back! They have a great selection of menu items, nice atmosphere, and friendly wait staff.
