I made a mistake that in order to order Highland branch instead of Cederpark BBQ. Immediately I called to store to cancel it, they told that food was not made and it should be canceled through Door Dash. SoI ordered again from the Cedar Park branch. Go to the Cedar Park branch and pick it up. But Highland branch cannot be cancelled because of some problem. I called again to store, they said there was no cancellation once the food was served. It's kept. If I don't come, they'll throw it away. So I said I would go pick him up and left. I notified arrived 10:28 (closes at 10:30). Suddenly I got a call from store manager, they can't even give me food and they will close right now. And then he just hung up after then he didn't answer the phone. So I had no idea instead of coming back home. I didn't get any food.
When I called right away after ordering, they said they were canceling the food because they were preparing it. They told to me to call to DoorDash about cancel payment. When I went to pick up food, suddenly the store was closed. Did you make food? I doubt it was eaten by centipedes. Dispute is set.
This is an absurd store. I'm Korean. While speaking well in Korean until I said I would go to store to bring a food, suddenly Laughing in English. I said I'was going now, but they keep saying they are closing now. (from 10 o'clock actual closing time 10:30) They are strange people. I never, never use again. And I'll tell the...
Read moreMy family and I were in the area looking for a place to sit down and eat, and we ended up dining at this spot. While the chicken was actually really good, we were surprised to see an automatic gratuity added to our bill for being a "large party."
For context, we're a family of five—me, my husband, two kids between the ages of 12 and 15, and our toddler, who’s practically a quarter-sized human. It felt a bit off to be charged as a large group under those circumstances.
I inquired about the automatic gratuity that had been added to our bill and asked one of the waitresses, “What qualifies as a large party for an automatic gratuity to be applied?” She replied, "it's restaurant policy. It's always been the policy here with a party of 5."
If the waitress had known what I do for a living, she would’ve known I don’t let things like that slide. I questioned the automatic gratuity on our check and pulled out my phone to reference Texas law. A waiter came by and asked if everything was okay. I said, “According to Texas law, automatic gratuity applies to parties of six or more. We’re a party of four—not counting my toddler, who’s about the size of a quarter.”
Restaurant policies should always align with state laws. He apologized and promptly removed the charge. We still left a tip, but for me, it’s about the principle.
So here’s a little tip—always double-check those automatic gratuities, especially if your party is...
Read more3.5 stars but I decided to round down to a 3 because they charged an automatic gratuity of 20% for a party of 5 or more when the menu said it would be 18%. Personally I think it’s a bit ridiculous to say that a large party starts at 5 people but their rules I guess.
I went on a Sunday night and the place wasn’t extremely busy. Regardless, it took a while for the food to come out. Luckily it came out hot for how much time we had to wait.
The French fries had no salt on them at all. I have never tasted a more bland fried potato in my life. I ordered the Wings of Fire, which are supposedly the hottest wings on the menu. It wasn’t spicy at all. The medium buffalo wings at Pluckers are spicier and those are fairly mild. The food, besides the fries, was pretty good though. Crispy and covered in sauce. While good, they were very expensive for how many you get.
One thing that really turned me off was that they didn’t have waters in cups but gave us bottles of water. While we weren’t charged for them, it seems extremely wasteful to be providing dine in guests with bottled water and then having to provide second bottles instead of refilling a glass. We asked if they had tap water and she said no.
Overall an okay experience. If I were to go back, I would 100% not dine in. Prices are so high that it probably will be a place I eat from maybe once a year or...
