Danngggggg this place was so cute. The person at the register was super friendly and patient, quickly explaining everything clearly and concisely for us, with a dash of humor. I appreciate the simple, easy-to-understand menu and the vegetarian options. The decor was cute and minimal, with a really nice informal, relaxed vibe. We got the tofu and turmeric fish rice dishes. The food came out super fast! The highlight for me was the roasted veggies, consisting of nicely browned carrots, squash, broccoli, and beets. I’m still drooling over the roasted broccoli! It was crunchy and savory, and not at all over-cooked or mushy (the way many other restaurants do it). I also really enjoyed the brown rice, which was cooked to perfection - so fluffy and flavorful, with just the right amount of salt. The other side dish was a gently pickled crunchy salad of cucumbers, cabbage, carrots, and jalapeño. This salad was decent, a tad spicy, and it could maybe use a bit more fermentation or interesting spices to give it a more memorable flavor and kick. The only downside was the fried tofu, which was chewy and kind of tough (not crunchy), drenched in a sauce/marinade that tasted a bit generic. It was almost like they fried the tofu, then simply dipped it in soy sauce. It was edible and basically enjoyable, but I think they could concoct a more interesting and zesty sauce for their tofu, and figure out a way to make the tofu retain some crunchiness. But overall, I really enjoyed all the flavors and the price ($10 per dish) was about right, considering their very generous portions. We left feeling super full for hours, but without that heavy/gross feeling. We’ll definitely be returning here!

Ordered online and had it home under 7 mins. We ordered the duck confit and grilled pork “bank mi.” Just to be clear, the only things that made either of these similar to a Vietnamese banh mi is the fact there were cucumbers, cilantro, and jalapenos. (The carrots were fresh, not pickled so they don’t count either.) So this is NOT a review of VN banh mi, but rather a review of sandwiches sold by Heo Eatery. The sandwich was dry. No mayo, butter, pate, salad dressing, oil, or anything similar to make the sandwich moist. The duck confit was a bit salty alone but mellowed out with the bread. The grilled pork had a hint of VN seasoning but you had to look for the flavor profile as it was quite subtle. The bread was flavorless, dry, and crispy. The ratio of bread to filling was nice though. Overall, the sandwiches were just edible. The tator tots were store bought. Salted and fried nicely but were handed over at room temperature. The orange sauce was served with the fries and tasted fine as a condiment.

Nice place in the Asian plaza. If you are looking for a good place to eat, you don't need to go far. It like a fusion of Vietnamese and Thai tastes so it's nice to try something different. The fish spring rolls were very nice. The Pho is good, not great but not terrible either. Quality ingredients, nice and fresh, I was feeling under the weather and it hit the spot for me. The Fried Pho is probably my favorite dish, flavor was there. My only knock on the dish was the lack of extra crispy the noodles could have been, but I didn't get that much noodles so that was disappointing. The Curry noodles was also very good, never had it before. The broth reminded me of Tom Yom soup, it was good. Prices are a tad bit high, but its that way everywhere. Honestly, its not quite 4 stars for me but it's very close, I'll let you be the judge and give it a try for yourself.

I ordered the Tofu Banh Mi and Eggplant Bao since I'm vegetarian. Both were so good that I nearly ordered the same things the following day.

The tofu was marinated and cooked (either wok tossed or baked?), which was a great touch instead of serving it fried. I like medium spice, so I made sure to keep the jalapeños in the banh mi for the best flavor combination. Everything from the ideal banh mi-style bread to the marinated tofu to the fresh vegetables was great. It even came with the cottage fries (i.e., round tater tots / mini hash browns), which I didn't expect but loved.

Also, I am overjoyed to have found the ultimate vegetarian bao bun! That eggplant was incredible. I can't stop thinking about it. It had a nice fried-like crust and was coated in the marinade sauce that I recognized from the tofu. Since becoming vegetarian, I do miss bbq pork bao/steam buns a lot, but this 100% satisfies that craving!

Even with 15-20 minutes between picking up my food and sitting down to eat it, it tasted so perfectly warm and fresh. It held up so well during my drive home (zero signs of soggy sandwich). I'm not used to that "freshly served" bite with any take-out food, so I was pleasantly surprised. Thank you so much for a delightful no-contact, take-out dinner, Heo Eatery!

Note: this was my first time ordering from Heo Eatery located on Airport Blvd as of June 2020. Overall, my only regret is that I never stopped by before June. I will be...

Heo is my hero! My husband and I returned from a long Thanksgiving trip with a bonus tag-a-long: nasty colds! I wanted nothing more than a hot steaming bowl of pho to hang my head over, but didn't want to expose anyone else to our misery. Uncertain about how pho might travel, I quieted my apprehension and ordered 2 "bowls" to be delivered. And the heavens sang down upon me! ;-) Within 20 minutes a bag was delivered with 2 containers of broth, 2 containers of thinly sliced beautiful beef, thinly sliced white onion and rice noodles, all carefully packaged for travel. 2 baggies of fresh cilantro, thai basil, lime and sliced jalepenos were included. I easily popped the noodles in bowls, dumped the beef, noodles and onions over, added the broth, gave it a mircro-zap, added the herbs and VOILA! Aromas of lemongrass, anise and citrus wafted to my poor congested nose, delighting even my dulled senses. I swirled the pho and squeezed the lime over, anticipating relief. The restorative power came quickly and was undeniable! While we are still recovering 6 days later, I credit Heo's pho with giving us the fortitude to carry on. I'm anticipating many weekly visits to the Heo Eatery! (This is my first google review...it was that...
