We can go through this Item by Item:
Food - Edible. Beef was drenched in an over sweet "BBQ" sauce that tasted like sugar and not much else. The Sausage was seasoned decently. Beans were bland and unseasoned. Coleslaw was passable. Chicken was dry and overcooked.
Decor - Would have looked decent if they didn't have the janitor closet door propped open, and supplies (styrofoam dishes, catering equipment, random boxes of stuff I don't remember) stacked IN the dining area. It seemed like management was having a meeting in the restaurant, and didn't seem to care about the disarray.
Service - Let me tell you the story. We walk in, it's our very first time in a place like this and it's obvious (we recently moved here from Idaho). We are waiting in line and are tipped by a fellow patron that the second register is open. I didn't see anyone there so I leaned around their food-warming area for a better look. Lo and behold, a fairly short woman is standing at the register. We scoot on over to her and I make a comment about not seeing her there, as an excuse for not arriving to the ordering point earlier. She doesn't reply, just looks at us blankly. I place my order. My girlfriend starts to place her order but is slightly confused about the choice of sides. She ends up getting two sides of the awful beans because the cashier did not explain the menu, just stared blankly until my GF gave the requisite information. We ordered two of the sweet teas, but was not told how they would arrive or how to acquire said sweet teas. We find a table and wait. About two minutes later, we notice two drinks sitting under the warming lamps in the serving area - Our sweet teas. I retrieve them only to find that they are hot on the outside, and bordering on warm on the inside.
I will never return to this establishment. All-around it's a huge disappointment, and a terrible introduction...
Read moreThe place looks amazing inside very rustic and welcoming. There were not very many people there and this was at peak hours after 5pm when everyone is getting off work and trying to feed their families. The ladies working there were very sweet and helpful. The meat portions were small compared to other establishments but had good flavor the sides were generous I especially liked their take on coleslaw but the Mac and cheese tasted like it came straight from a box. Apple pie was good lemon was amazing and pecan I would probably never buy again. Overall very cool place and decent prices what made me rate it only 3 stars was when I saw their employee walk out of the restroom stall and straight back to work without washing his hands. When I mentioned this to the manager he said o yeah that’s so and so he doesn’t touch the food. While that may be nice that he isn’t touching the food directly he is still back there touching the register the counter surfaces or something else that someone who is touching your food ends up making contact with and spreading his junk around. I’m not a local so I don’t know what times this place is normally busy but maybe this is why your restaurant only had a couple of patrons while the other food establishments across the road...
Read moreToday I went into Bill Miller BBQ with my service dog. I have a disability. My service dog was extremely well behaved (the people at the table beside us said they didn't even know she was there) but the area manager was there and he asked me to leave the restaurant because I had a service animal. She was dressed in a vest that clearly marked her as a service dog and although I politely explained the laws pertaining to service animals to him, he would not allow me and my dog to stay.
He was rude and absolutely humiliated me. I have eaten at many other establishments with my service dog and have never been treated this way. I left crying.
** EDIT: Today (one day after the incident) I was contacted and apologized to. The individual who was disrespectful personally apologized and said that he has been educated on the ADA laws and has educated all other store managers on what the correct procedures are for an individual with a disability and with a service animal. His apology was much appreciated... Because of this, I will definitely raise my score. Despite this negative interaction, I will return......
