This is by far the worst Whataburger location I've ever been to. It's the closest one to me so I've been there quite a few times. Every single time I've gone, they have messed up my order.
The first time they forgot to give me my hash browns and I had to go inside since I was in lane 2. When I got inside there was nobody at the front counter and eventually someone saw me and gave me the hash browns.
The second time they gave me a small Dr. Pepper when I ordered a regular meal and she tried to claim that it normally came with a small. Furthermore the woman that gave the Dr. Pepper said that they accidentally added a grilled cheese onto my order and I had to wait for her to go back in to get her manager to fix it. When I finally got my food they had given me fries instead of onion rings and I had to wait another 3 minutes for her to come back out and explain that I needed the onion rings. At least I got to keep the fries.
The third time I visited this location it was busy as hell at 11pm on a Sunday, so my fiancé and I were already pretty annoyed. She wanted some breakfast tacos and I wasn't about to argue with a hungry woman, so we decided to wait in the drive thru. It took a while but we finally got to order and made sure to say we wanted picante sauce. We were told to go into lane 2. When the employee brought our food out he handed to us and immediately walked away and I told her to ask if there was sauce in the bag but he walked away too fast to say anything. We checked the bag and sure enough there was no sauce. It was not an enjoyable car ride on the way home to say the least.
The fourth and most recent time I visited this Whataburger, I ordered a patty melt with onion rings and a Dr. Pepper. I approached the window to pay and the employee said patty melt meal with a fry that will be $X.XX. I cut him off and said it's supposed to be onion rings and he said okay and yelled put onion rings down to the kitchen. I assumed my bag of food would be correct since I had clarified that I wanted onion rings. They gave me the bag and luckily I assumed something would be wrong, so I looked, and sure enough, I saw fries. I had to knock on the glass to get their attention and let them know I ordered onion rings.
I keep coming back here hoping that everything will go according to plan but I am losing hope. I really want this location to prove me wrong because I like Whataburger overall, but I'm afraid there's no saving this location. If I've had something messed up 4 out 4 times I've gone, just think of how many orders they mess up.
Go here if you you like long drive thru lines or have a thing for not getting the right order, or if you just like to complain and...
Read moreIt was a busy Saturday night after 10 close to 11pm. My order took way longer than usual and then it was not accurate and I had to go back and make it right. The WB person that finally brought over my order and then fixed it said, "Sorry for the delay, but it's Saturday." What?! This isn't a critique for the people serving nor the manager in turn! This is an observation for those up higher in this Whataburger place! IF YOU KNOW HOW "SATURDAYS" go down at this location it's about time to open up ANOTHER Whataburger within range of that area! As a customer doing a pit stop from my trip going South on 35, I don't recall seeing WB pre exit signage on 35 alerting when to get out. I saw it after and had to exit farther down and figure out a way back to it. This was at night. The way long lines made us get down to order inside thinking it would be faster, and it actually took longer. These guys were overwhelmed, not sure if overstaffed for the occasion, but there's only so much people can do with the space and time given. I mean, even if you have 2 or 3 cooks on the grill, you can only fit so many patties on it at a time. And while that moves at its space-time capacity, cars and orders keep coming and piling at their space-time capacity too. ANOTHER Whataburger location is needed in the area. Until then, I would avoid this place on Saturday nights, if you can, or find other options. We ate in our car. I LOVED the new Hatch Green Bacon burger! We left the WB parking lot close to 12am and the car lines were still at full capacity! The good and the sad of the situation! The good: A LOT of people kept coming! The sad: Not ALL (probably NONE) got their FAST food fast. I know WB lovers would still say that it was worth the wait, but if WB "loved" or really appreciated these faithful customers, THEY wouldn't want US to wait! Besides, isn't it that time is money? Then, another WB location close by could better serve customers in this area. It's a win-win! Customers get better faster service and WB gets to sell maybe more in less time by doubling its space-time capacity. Think about the customers "rescued" or brought back to WB that were previously turned away by the wait time at this current location! Anyway, I hope someone is on the ball and doesn't drop it on this opportunity to make business grow, and also offer more jobs...
Read moreWoke up in the middle of the night for unknown reasons and felt a little hungry. I thought Whataburger might hit the spot.
When I pulled in the drive through was empty and the only person in the dining room was an employ so I decided I would eat there while the food was fresh.
So I went up to the counter and waited, and waited, and waited.
The were plenty of employees. Two standing only feet away. A young lady in the drive through head set, and a strapping young guy of about 6'2" with a full head of shiny black hair.
They were engaged in a personal conversation of what they would do when their respective shifts ended. It must have been important because though they made eye contact several times, neither seemed to feel a paying customer was worthy of interruption.
So after 5 minutes or so as I turned to leave I saw the manager returning from the parking lot. She was not the least bit concerned a man with money in his hand, literally, was leaving without being helped.
Whataburger may be open 24 hours, but they are serving customers only when they feel like it. It seems to be a trend in Austin Whataburgers and accepted policy. The store on William Cannon and I-35 is worse.
And trust me, I do not expect a call or email from a store area or zone manager because in Austin this has become the Whataburger way.
They are doing you a favor if they...
