my partner and i have come here together a couple of times, but she's been here more times than that. she's the reason i go there. but, she's not the only reason. we're big fans of a live dive where five gets you jive. here in the former live music capital of the world, experiences come with a high price. not here, you can get a taste of what's kept austin weird and you'll still have money for the jukebox. i recommend saying "no" if any men approach you offering you a muddy shot of rumplemintz. and make sure the rest of your party also says "no," because they'll likely ask everyone at the table. they might double check that you didn't want it, but don't be galled, just repeat the answer "no" and they'll take the hint. most of the time, and in fact, all of the time, as luck would have it, they'll just go sit back down at the bar and take the shot themselves. it's a win-win. you can do this on a normal night, or a holiday night because boomerz is...

One star is too many. Manager Chris, and bartender Mel, are allowed by their owners to take phones from unsuspecting customers and inappropriately harass their children/loved ones.

When I called asking for a (real) manager, I was told to call 911. Hideous behavior. It’s clear they cover down well here to hide their indiscretions. In fact the complaints are so frequent, Chris, mistook me for someone else when I called. Yikes.

Someone I know was travelling and we went to Boomerz because we needed a dive bar might. It was exactly that, with karaoke, cheap drinks, lots of pool tables, and the patrons to fit the vibe - all of which I love. I was with an older person travelling through Austin, and they left their small bag containing probably $2k-3k worth of their jewelry, without realizing it. Turns out, when we called them up the next day, someone at Boomerz had found it and turned it in with nothing missing.
