Our wedding was in July and Sweet Treets was okay. They worked with us through the pandemic which was kind. However, we went to a second tasting since it was over a year later, they didn’t have us on the books despite my now husband confirming it via email. We drove about an hour to have to find another thing to do while they figured things out and prepared everything. Not ideal when spending over $800 on 2 cakes with delivery, paid tasting, and making a drive under the impression everything was all ready to go. Our grooms cake also had the wrong colors on the bottom tier despite the photo and multiple instructions on the invoice and via emails. Little details do matter and messing up a popular MLB logo when it was stated/shown in multiple places was disappointing and obvious. We had multiple guests point it out which was fairly embarrassing for us. (And it’s in our wedding photos forever so just a reminder that little details for desserts do matter). On a positive note, our main wedding cake and the other tiers were beautiful and correct. The cakes tasted great and they do a one-year anniversary cake so you don’t have to freeze the original, so there are silver linings there. Just wish the instructions and photos were followed when paying as much as we did and made it very clear what we wanted. I would recommend them and have continued to do so on the local bridal groups due to the taste and look of the cakes, but give caution regarding little details.

I want everyone to know how ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE Sweet Treets Bakery is. I attempted to order a birthday cake, with my dog's face on it, several weeks in advance. I sent photos, made calls and emails. Several of my emails were unanswered, as were several of my phone calls -- needless to say, communication is not their strong suit. Beyond that, I was pressured to buy a larger cake. The cake was a birthday surprise, just for two people. The bakery suggested I go up a size "because the dog's face will be really, really small" on the smaller cake. I agreed, and ordered a confetti cake. It somehow came out lemon. I understand that baking is difficult and decorating cakes isn't for everyone -- which is why I came to a professional bakery. I expected the best. Based on all the reviews, that's what I should have gotten. Instead, I got a birthday cake that was the wrong flavor, did not follow directions for the description of my dog, and honestly looked like an owl or the Abominable Snowman. The other photos that have been posted look as if the bakery took time -- for mine, they threw a random cake together, that didn't even taste good. I would NOT recommend. And if you're looking for a laugh, please view the picture of my cake. Especially in comparison to my dog, it looks like a Yeti.

Sweet Treets was an awesome vendor for our wedding and groom cakes! We had a fairly large wedding, but a mid-sized budget, and they worked with us to find the right balance for the wedding. We ended up doing a 2 tiered wedding cake, with 120 cupcakes in multiple flavors. They also made us an incredible 3D armadillo for the grooms cake. It was so beautiful it didn't get served until more than half-way through the reception, because everyone thought it was a statue! And the taste, OMG. As a bride, even with multiple attendants making sure I ate during the day, at the end of our wedding I was completely starving. My matron of honor packed me a big slice of armadillo cake and a couple of cupcakes to take back to our room, and you better believe the first thing my brand new husband and I did upon getting out of our wedding attire was eat EVERY.LAST.CRUMB. from those to-go boxes. I can honestly say it was the best cake experience of my life. Out top tier was accidentally smashed during pack out, and we are already planning on having Sweet Treets re-make it for our 1 year anniversary (and it'll taste better that way, in any case).

Food tastes good, but unprofessional and not reliable for your event. We started working with Sweet Treets for our wedding way in advance bc we really wanted to lock them in. Initially, the experience was good, so we got our quote and paid the deposit. When we came to a month out from our wedding, they were not responsive what so ever. We needed to check in, confirm, get info for coordinating, but after multiple emails, calls, and messages left, they finally responded more than a week later - asking for more money. More money for multiple things - mind you we already had a quote. When we asked why we owe more and why they haven’t been responsive, it was about another week later until a response and their excuse was that our original consultant was no longer with them. As we are still trying to figure out final pricing bc they kept talking about how we didn’t have enough food* (I’ll come back to this), needed a better delivery time (costs more), now have higher prices for items (they decided they’ll honor some original prices but not others?), and ridiculously priced design elements, it again, takes them forever and a day to respond while we are 2-3 weeks out from our wedding. It was like this painful war of attrition and so we just accepted whatever new quote they gave to try and ensure that they’d even show up with food, as we got an email in the midst saying that we had to pay a deposit or else we wouldn’t be in the calendar - yet we had already paid our deposit the year prior and confirmed our date! Finally, day of wedding, no one checked in w us like every other vendor did. We didn’t even know they came and were just praying they did. Come to find out, they broke my cake topper when placing it on top of the cake AND didn’t even give us the amount of food we contracted and paid for, that they told us to increase! After all that trouble in that last month, they proved in the end that they are just not dependable. This was the only vendor for our whole wedding that gave us any grief. We were so disappointed bc the food is good… but you shouldn’t have to worry about if you’ll get it or having a basic line of communication, especially weeks/days before your big day. Can not recommend...

From the moment Sweet Treets people showed up with the wedding cake at the venue it started to collapse due to structural issues. How in the hell does a wedding cake company not know how to make a structurally sound wedding cake???

Then when they took the cake back to the bakery and returned to the venue, South Congress wayyy past the eta time. The cake was broken and damaged. I am guessing because they had to take it completely apart and add an absurd amount of reinforcement. Once they were back at South Congress it was realized that the groom's cake was left behind!!!! Not only were they already late with the wedding cake but then they had to go back to get the groom's cake they forgot at the bakery.

This, therefore, caused our entrance into the reception space to be delayed so they could then install the groom's cake. Everyone was waiting for us to walk in and make out the entrance and instead the two women who showed up had to walk in and add the groom's cake.

On top of everything, we were not able to do a cake cutting because there is so much structure in the cake it was impossible to take any kind of cut through the cake. I was hitting structural elements and was embarrassed to not be able to do any kind of cake cutting at my wedding.

If this was not enough the bride's cake looked unfinished, poorly put together, broken flowers, areas where the frosting was completely missing.

As a designer, I could not IMAGINE presenting a product like this to a person. LET ALONE THERE WEDDING!!!!

To know that they have ruined an important part of my wedding will be something I never forget. South Congress Hotel and the wedding planning company let me know that they will be removing them from the preferred vendor's list due to the complete lack of professionalism.

I had such high hope and obviously, I was completely wrong.

I wrote an e-mail 3 days ago and have yet to hear anything back. To know that once they have the money nothing...

Sweet Treets did my wedding cake a couple weeks ago. The cake was not an issue, they delivered on time and it looked amazing and tasted delicious. However, their communication needs a lot of work.

First of all, my mother made the deposit and told me to contact them for cake tasting. They never got back to me after two separate phone calls.

Again, my mother was the one communicating with them the entire time, and specified that, but they contacted me a couple days before my wedding and asked me a bunch of questions. When I called my mom to ask about it, she said she had already communicated all those points to them! Even if she hadn't, they should have called her!

Additionally, I called one other time to simply ask for a list of their flavors so I could pick them out. The woman that answers the phone (same woman I was talking to about cake tastings) couldn't even give me a list of flavors! I ended up just going to their website and picking from there..which in hindsight I definitely could have done before I called but it just seemed silly she didn't even have that knowledge to just tell me really quick over the phone so I could just choose and be done with it.

Then, and this was really the final straw for me, they contacted me after I told them I wanted my mother to be the point of contact on the day of. They asked me for her phone number and her name... (1) they had been in contact with her for months before this and (2) I had already emailed them that information!

So sad because the cake was really awesome and they are nice people but it was incredibly frustrating to deal with this a week before my wedding. If they can work on their in-house communication, I think they would be...
