Austin is pretty far from Detroit and Chicago but Via 313 doesn’t have a competitor in the area that can touch the quality and flavor when it comes to deep dish pizza. In fairness, I have only tried the Oak Hill location and haven’t had the opportunity to try the thousands of establishments here in Austin (yet), that specialize or just have good pizza on their menus. But as a traveling pizza enthusiast, this pie is currently the best in the area. The sauce is spectacular (not too sweet and not too tangy), the crust is amazing (crispy and chewy all at the same time), and the toppings are quality fresh ingredients that make the pie stand out that much more remarkably. As for the price; it’s much more than a fast food joint, it’s not priced like a Michelin rated restaurant (which I’d be concerned if they even served pizza ;), but what it is, is great pizza served at a price that reflects its quality. The only complaint I have, is that the bar is small. It can be like Mad Max racing to get a seat for a pie and a pint. Lost revenue opportunity in my book, but the something the owners can figure out. Enjoy the pizza!

We have had Via 313 many times now and I can confidently say it is definitely worth all 5 stars. We have had the following pizzas (not all in the same meal HAH) • The Bobo Brazil: ~MUST GET~ this is one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. It is sweet, hot and oh so good. It is often sold out towards the end of the night so order early! • The Detroiter: their “extra” pepperoni pizza almost. It’s really good! There are pepperonis under the cheese and on top with the “Detroit” sauce which is (to me) a sweeter marinara • The Ambassador Bridge: ~MUST GET~ the ricotta cheese is amazing and this pizza is packed with meats and veggies. It is really good but not overwhelming with too many flavors. Highly recommend • The Cadillac: ~MUST GET~ this was very good. Subtly sweet with the balsamic glaze and a light cheese. No red sauce on this one! Really good!!! • The Meatball: really good. Just a meatball pizza but great quality meat! Overall I would highly recommend via. It’s a little (read.. a lotta) pricey but truly worth it!! At peak hours of dinner time it takes a while for a to go order so plan ahead!

Been to this location many-a-times since they've opened so conveniently close to home. I don't know if it's dangerous...or amazing. Either way, thanks for being so darn close! Went for dinner and didn't have to wait as long as I thought we would have to. Service was spot on as it usually is.. And I never had to go without anything. The place is always well kept up and clean whenever I'm in there. Zero complaints in that department! Now about the food.. Because that's why you're reading this. I mean, how have you not had Via yet? It's amazing! It's dense and filling but also so airy and light. You just have to try it and see exactly what I'm talking about. I can usually only eat two slices unless I haven't eaten all day. We ended up getting the Cadillac, which is what I always get, and the rocket, which I've never gotten before. It was a good juxtaposition of fresh and sweet? Noms. Dreaming of them now. Can't wait to go back! Get your butts in there and have a slice.. Or three.

LOVE Via. I worked at this location for about 8 months, and everything about Via is fantastic. The pizza is delicious -- I recommend the Detroit Style (deep dish, rectangular pizza), but the Bar Style (closer to your standard pizza) is great as well. I mainly got the Detroiter, a specific version of the Detroit Style pizza, and it was always incredible. When I wanted to pretend I was eating healthier, I'd do cheese pizza with arugula and cherry tomatoes which was similarly fabulous. Their monthly pizzas, usually benefiting a charity and partnering with another local Austin restaurant, are superb. I had a brisket pizza and a chicken, bacon, ranch pizza, but probably my favorite special was their buffalo chicken pizza. Their salads are also great -- I recommend the antipasto plus goat cheese. (One of my managers at the time recommended it to me, and it quickly became my go-to salad.) If you're vegan or gluten-free, they have options for you as well: dairy-free cheese or gluten-free dough just cost an additional $3.00, and you can basically build your own pizza to accommodate your diet from there. (They don't have vegan meat substitutes, but they have plenty of vegan-friendly toppings.) On top of the tremendous food quality, management is great. They take serious steps to reduce waste by composting as much as possible and are invested in the community through charity and work projects. My supervisors were great and wouldn't hesitate to do menial tasks to support me or make sure the restaurant ran smoothly. I moved out of Austin, but when I return, I'll certainly be back! If you haven't tried Via,...

Can't believe I've lived only a couple miles from this place for years and had never been here. What a hidden gem, drove past it many times and just looked like another strip-mall pizza joint. Finally stopped in, and so glad I did. Good selection of local beers as well as a few cocktails(they don't skimp on the booze either). Pizza is offered in either the "Detroit Style"- which is a thicker crust with cheese baked to crispy perfection on the edges, or "Bar Style", which is more of a NY style thin crust. Build your own pizza or choose one of their combinations. It's nice they allow you to do half/half of two different toppings on one pizza, can be hard to choose since everything sounds amazing.

This had to be one of the best pizzas I've ever had. Crust was light, airy, and the edges were crispy and cheesy. Some odd sounding topping combinations really work great together too.

It's not the cheapest, or fastest pizza. But oh boy, it's worth the price and wait (servers will "warn you" if you haven't been in before it can take up to 30 minutes). Service was attentive and polite. I saw a manger making the rounds checking in on tables also, a sign they really care about the customer experience.

They don't do delivery (again, this is NOT a mass produced take out pizza joint), but do offer call-in orders for take out. The menu does have a couple salads, apps, and desserts, but the pizza is clearly the focus.

If you're in the mood for a fantastic sit-down pizza experience,...

I have eaten here for years, and have always been happy with my pizza, but.... lately it has changed the taste has become bland and on par with an average pizza. Pizza must be great for me, and they use to fit this expectation. This time I ate inside and had a couple beers which by the way are served ice cold and taste fresh off the tap. The pizza I love so much was not even close to what I would consider good. It changed, much more bland, odd taste to the marinara and a little undercooked with far less topping than before ,but yes the price was as high as its ever been. I did speak with the waiter about the change and he acted concerned to the point that I thought he was going to ask if something changed. Nope, did not happen I had to ask again if he found out what might have happened. He then brought my concern up to the manager, with a response of, well it is probably under cooked. No offer to cook more, charge less or even a sorry we did not get it as good as we normally do. I was left with hey it happens tough luck and here is your full price bill for what you originally expected when you agreed to buy the pizza. I don't know, give em another shot or just move on to a pizza shop with better care taken to how its made and managed by a person who understands the customer expectation? I think you know what I will do. Plenty of pizza place to...
