The husband and I decided to try them since, like every one else on here, they left a pamphlet on our apartment door. The lady on the phone... she seemed okay. I literally had to keep asking her to repeat herself over, and over... and over. Her English is worse than the ladies at the nail salon (seriously). I finally got around to finishing our ordering, and she seemed very blunt in asking me questions, I didn't find her rude.
We ordered a Won-ton Soup, Beef Lo Mein, Singapore Rice Noodles, 2 Egg rolls and 10 pcs chicken wings. We did like the fact that the portions were so big for the price. You can literally feed a family of roughly 4-5 people with these portions!
It seemed the same lady I spoke with over the phone was the one who delivered the food. I wasn't thinking when signing the receipt and tipped her $2.00. But now tasting their food and having to throw away most of it, I am glad I did.
My husband loves Singapore Rice Noodles, but this had almost no veggies and all rice noodles. It was very bland. He tried to make it taste better by adding some eggs (which had none) and a little salt. He literally threw it in the disposal because it was just never going to taste as good as it should, and he just could not save it from Food Hell. My Beef Lo Mein, it LOOKED good, but tasted so bland. I literally had to add salt!. The beef IN the LO MEIN was soooo rubbery, I kept asking my husband if this was some kind of imitation beef (lol). The texture just wasn't... beef. The egg rolls are the size of the fingers of a child, and I paid $1 PER egg roll. WOW!
Chicken wings had NO flavor either, we had to add salt, and even then we asked for original wings, it was FRIED. The Won-ton Soup, it was probably the only thing I actually ate. The "sweet and sour" sauce they gave us, was probably not even sauce. Water with red dye probably.
At first I was disappointed I didn't give little ol' lady a nice tip, but I am now glad I didn't give her more than what I did.
TL;DR - DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY BUYING FROM THESE "WANNABE" CHINESE RESTAURATEURS. ALL OF THESE BAD REVIEWS ARE RIGHT. DISAPPOINTED THAT WE DID NOT READ REVIEWS...
Read moreI hate that I have to award a single star for the food I received yesterday and am further annoyed by the experience I had with the individual who identified herself as the manager and owner. Save your time and save your money. Yesterday, I ordered $46 worth of food for myself household. The guys reported their orange chicken was dry but ate it anyway. I couldn't take it and called the restaurant and reported how dry my sesame seed chicken was. The sauce tasted okay and it was pretty but the chicken was dry. It was like eating dehydrated chicken jerky in nugget form drenched in sauce. The restaurant delivered another order but it arrived the same way. The rice was undercooked but edible and the egg rolls were fried in old oil. I called to convey feedback today and the lady who answered the phone identified herself as the owner and manager and continually spoke over me even after I told her I wasn't asking for anything. I didn't want money or food. I just wanted to let them know about the awful orders I received. She eventually hung up on me rather than hearing me out. Please, please, please save yourself some frustration, time, and money. Last night instead of the Chinese food I'd craved for weeks, I ate half of a roast beef and...
Read moreThis is without a doubt the worst Chinese food I have ever had in my life. Food was delivered via GrubHub.
I had ordered the sesame chicken and sweet and sour chicken dinner special, both of which came with Soup, Egg Roll, Cheese Puff and Fried Rice. Sounds like a good deal if it was actually edible. The moment I saw the food I knew it was old and stale but I couldn't fathom how old it was until I actually tasted it. The "fried rice" was just white rice mixed with soy sauce. Had to be at least a day old. The color and quality of the sesame chicken was off putting but it was clear after a few bites that it was old and probably microwaved. There was a weird bitter taste to it. The sweet and sour chicken and cheese puffs were both stale as well.
After that, we decided this food wasn't worth risking getting food poisoning so w didn't even try the soup, we just threw the food away. Cannot remember the last time we threw food away like this.
This was really really bad. I would urge ya'll not to ever order from here. Truly one of the worst foods I have had in Austin. The owners should be ashamed to serve food like this. Thank you GrubHub for refunding this...
